The Diocese of 5th and Anne Streets?
Helmet tip to my super secret spy network.
I posted a couple of weeks back that a certain Catholic Faith Community & Group Hug Worshipitorium here within the Cape Fear Deanery has taken it upon themselves to blow off the directives from Rome in regards to getting rid of the Sacramental of Holy Water during the entirety of Lent.
Not exactly a big shocker. Bishop Burbidge has essentially been told to go to hell by the Presider-in-Residence of St. Mary's in Chains more than once.
How 'bout I remind one and all of the Lutheresque call to question Papal authority? Sheesh... with priests like this, who needs Jack Chick?
Should I even bring up the Obama symbols being painted on childrens faces at one of their recent 'Fall Festivals'? BTW, when did we start celebrating seasons? Sacred Oak, anyone?
Anyhow, back to the Holy Water fonts being turned into cigarette butt cans at St. Mary's in Chains during the entirety of Lent, here's a lil' something called -
AND THE SEASON OF EASTER
DIOCESE OF RALEIGH
2010
Please refer to page 4. Emphasis mine.
Sounds like he needs to do a house cleaning of said parish
ReplyDeleteHoly Water is not just a reminder of baptism, although this is a VERY IMPORTANT "sign" [better word than reminder IMHO]. Holy Water protects us from evil . . . i.e., helps keep the devil at bay. A R.O. Archimandrite (a priest/monk raised to high honors) told me I should drink Holy Water frequently, because of its spiritual protection, and related to the Evil One, it's promotion of health. He also said I should drink wine because it is good for the blood. I took his advice about the wine, but I have fallen far short of the mark vis-a-vis Holy Water. *big grin*
ReplyDelete"So why is there sand in the holy water fonts? It is to symbolize the forty days and nights that Jesus was in the desert. At the Easter Vigil Mass, the holy water will return."
ReplyDeleteWhat we can ascertain from this is that this individual knew EXACTLY what he was doing in SPITE of liturgical norms and made it abundantly clear that he was ignoring them in favor of his own judgment. He's reveling in his disobedience, and its just so sad. It angers me that a parish which has done so much good work in ministering to the Latino community (who would otherwise be lost to Pentacostalism), the elderly, and the working poor, has to also be known as a nest of heresy and dissent. You know, living out the Gospel through good works and obeying the laws of God and the legitimate authorities he has placed in power are not mutually exclusive!
