For the benefit of those who don't normally follow this blog, I've recently discovered the joys of woodworking. And being the novice I am, it's not that unusual for me to be 1/16th or so off.
And because of that, I've come to the conclusion that 30 grit sandpaper is the woodworking version of Charity --- it covers a multitude of sins.
As long as you measured 1/16th too long. The sandpaper won't put anything back if you cut short! (That's what shims and Plasctic Wood are for!) BTW, a heavy duty rasp can do wonders, too.
ReplyDeleteA belt sander can also 'correct' some errors of measurement - and with a lot less effort.
ReplyDeleteAnd Liquid Nails are as much a godsend as duct tape...!
