"The work of the devil will infiltrate even into The Church" ~ The Blessed Virgin Mary at Akita, Japan
I was having a discussion with a friend today, and he confided that he was going to switch parishes due to the (as he put it) "Modernist circus atmosphere" where he was attending what use to be referred to as Mass. Personal note: good luck finding anything with an iota of reverence in the Cape Fear Deanery (North Carolina). martin luther would be proud.
Anyhow, as we discussed the ecclesiastical masturbation that takes place at 7:30, 9:30, and 11:00 every Sunday (and twice on Saturdays!) at St. Worshipyourself's, it was brought up that the Poncho Ladies once claimed that certain alleged Catholic "Bishops" actually pretended to ordain some of these gals. Immediately, a half dozen names leapt to mind. And that's just here in the United States.
But I did a little digging, and found out some interesting news. When you get done reading this, ask yourself how many bishops that you know of who wouldn't have any problem whatsoever "ordaining" these well marinated 60's rejects?
Here's a snippet from The Washington Compost; (Emphasis mine)
"how many bishops that you know"
ReplyDeletePersonally or by reputation?
Personally: 1 (I think you can guess which archdiocese he is in charge of.)
Reputation: Let's see? At least 2 in Californicationland, 1 retired Detroit Auxilary, 1 retired(slightly involuntarily)archbishop in Wisconsin, a retired Minnesota archbishop. How is that for a start?
They can train until they bleed, they will never be priests.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is with scandal and disorientation that makes them look like an "oppressed minority".
1--There are no women in training for the priesthood, as it is a matter of the deposite of the faith tha women cannot be ordained. Rather, there are 120 women who are in material heresy, preparing to get themselves excommunicated because their crpto-lesbian gender confusion is moe important to them than the truth.
ReplyDelete2--There is no "Bishop in Good Standing" who has simulated ordination of a woman. Rather, if he exists, he is under the senence of latae sentitae excommunication, and in grave danger of eternal damnation.
Yeah, I know, don't confuse the issue with facts.
I know what you mean. I had the unfortunate opportunity to attend the 5:30pm mass at St. Therese on Sunday, which unbeknownst to me is the "Gutitar and Tamborine Mass." I thought to myself, why didn't I just go to St. Nicholas Orthodox this morning instead? Now that Fr. Walter is gone, we don't have any orthodox priests left here to my knowledge.
ReplyDeleteCavey,
ReplyDeletePlease remind me again why Archbishop Lefebvre was excommunicated in 1988. I seem to have forgotten.
Sorry C, but do you realize that the 'Guitar and Tamborine Man' that leads the 5:30 mass at my parish was hired, encouraged and promoted to play in this 'Kumbayah' manner by the same 'orthodox' priest you are lauding?
ReplyDeleteFor consecrating two more successors than he was supposed to.
ReplyDeleteYeah I know.
He was a strong supporter of the Latin Mass, and very loyal to the Holy Father and therefore I think we can overlook that. We have to take what we can get down here "in partibus infidelium". I may not like the "Praise and Worship" nonsense, but I'm also not opposed to throwing a bone to those people if it keeps them in the church. What I am opposed to is the fact that they HAVE taken over the church, although that time is up thanks to Benedict.
ReplyDeleteDoes a strong supporter of the Latin Mass normally allow a lay person to read the Gospel readings at a Latin Mass?
ReplyDelete...and I know this is something that can be confirmed by some who frequent this blog. I can only hope that his exposure to the Latin Mass does him some good. I've unfortunately seen other things that are quite to the contrary of what you are saying. I know this as a long standing parishioner who happens to appreciate TLM, not someone who only knows St. Therese and its old Pastor through his experience with TLM. So I will not overlook anything.
No need to get upset Nypd. : ) We're all on the same side here. I recieved my first communion at St. Therese under Fr. Raymond Donahue (talk about a great priest) way back when, so I'm no stranger to that parish! Of course, I would defer to your experience, since I only attended the church for the TLM, not for regular Novus Ordo Services. I'm also familiar with the initial problems regarding the Neocatecumenical Way and some other unpopular decisions that he made at first. I get the distinct impression that the Latin Mass has had a great impact on his spiritual life and that he underwent a conversion experience. We should be greatful that he has done so rather than focusing on past issues. I never saw anyone but Fr. reading the Gospel at the TLM. Mr. Caveman, did you see this happen as well?
ReplyDeleteC,
ReplyDeleteSadly, yes... I witnessed a member of the laity Proclaim the Gospel, in violation of the instructions of the Mass of Pius V.
Hell, even the Novus Ordo doesn't allo wthat.
And to add insult to injury, Father attempted to defend what was done, during the sermon. Some BS about "some churches in France do that".
What a crock. Needless to say, after that episode of playing fast and loose with the TLM, I never again attended another Mass clelebrated by him.
Nor will I ever in the future.
How unfortunate! Liturgical abuses in the TLM are always surprising because they are so rare compared to the NO. Thanks for the verification on this.
