They -- Just -- Don't -- GET IT!!
10 years late and a billion dollars short

WARNING!! Harsh language alert. No punches pulled on this post.

The headline from the Dallas Morning News says it all, "Cardinal and bishop say Catholics should look to official church teachings on abortion".

What in the world makes Justin Cardinal Rigali and Bishop William Murphy think for a moment that most Catholics give a rat's ass what they or The Church say? What planet are these two on?

Hell, just drive through the parking lot of your garden variety Novus Ordo Self-Worshiptourium and check out all the Obama/Biden '08 bumper stickers. Read for yourself the latest headlines with stories concerning "Catholics For Obama" organizations mutating to life hand-over-fist. Research for yourself how the overwhelming majority of the 300+ member USCCB are sitting on their hands and ain't sayin' shit about defending un-born human life... especially during this election cycle.

But here's the main reason why most Catholics could give a shit less what the hierarchy says about "official Church teaching" - the Catholic honchos did zilch point shit (0.Feces) for YEARS when faggots in Roman Collars were screwing everything, both pre and post-pubescent, that had a set of testicles attached to it.

No... I take that back. Most of our fearless leaders didn't simply "do nothing". Most protected the wolves as they ravaged the lambs. Don't believe me? Click here.

So to Cardinal Rigali and Bishop Murphy, sorry guys. Whatever moral authority you and your brother bishops had, was absolutely and utterly pissed away years ago. But now you want Catholics to fall in line just because you point to Church Teaching? Simply put - talk is cheap. Put up or shut up.

Under the stack of "Social Justice" bullshit, I'm sure there are a few really, really old writs of excommunication just dying to be filled out.

  1. Your headline says it all Cavey. In a related note, yesterday I went to the MN History Center to see the Vatican exhbit. In approximate order you see are paintings from the 1600's, some mosaics from the original St. Peter's basilica, icons, a Monstrance with relics of St. Peter and other saints, either the original or a copy of the Mandlyon, more old paintings, Swiss guard uniforms, the Tiara Napoleon gave to the Pope he later imprisoned (Pius VII?) which was too small for his head, then vestments of Pius IX and stuff like clips of the funeral of Pius XI and the announcement of Pius XII . The whole time there is such a presence of piety and holiness. Then you get to the 1960's and Paul VI and John Paul II and it's like the Church has a stroke. There's an actual cope JPII wore and it looks like something Jesse Ventura used to wear. The portrait of Paul VI looks like it was made by a guy on LSD. You're left with this feeling of revulsion. How fitting that immediately before you see this crap, err I mean items from the 60's is a portrait of St. Pius X.

Mrs VSO and I even sung "one of these things is not like the other..." out loud. We note that the pre Vat2 stuff looked just like ours and that the post Vat2 stuff looked like it came from a prot circus church.

If it comes near you go see it! And do venerate the reliquary and the icon of Christ.

Those Obama stickers in my church parking lot make my stomach churn and my heart ache. Interestingly, I see more of them on seniors' cars at the Saturday Vigil Mass, which in our parish is the (as I like to call it) Guitar Mass. (Technically, it's the "contemporary" choir. I think their name should be The Fifth Horsemen of the Apocolypse.)

  3. I agree with you.

Yet, you understand what this means? There is no turning the ship with these men at the helm. Who is left to turn the ship? Who has the moral authority to give moral guidance to these millions of self-pleasuring pseudo-Catholic hedonists?

Sadly, the dilemnas continue to pile up. The IRS has received a complaint against the Bishop of Patterson for making (gasp) negative statements about politicians in favor of abortion. The IRS has these men's nuts in a vise.

I don't know how this is going to pan out. But, one thing for sure, American Catholics are not entitled to have a Church in America if this bullshit keeps up. There are many Churches from history that don't exist anymore simply because people let them die. Catholics have lost sight of Christ...who's going to show them?

There needs to be radical reform in the Church or we're toast. Lord have mercy!

  4. It's my motto, how can we expect people to take things seriously, if we don't. Or in the case of the JIFC how do you expect us to take the teachings of the Church seriously, if you don't enforce the consequences that come with disobedience?

  5. Earlier this week, my kids and I watched Becket, a movie made in the 60's about St. Thomas Becket & King Henry II. Imagine my surprise when they had a full length scene of St. Thomas Becket EXCOMMUNICATING a noble of the time for killing a priest without prior clergy trial, etc.

My sons wanted to know what excommunication was all about, so perfect time to explain. A few days later, dh and I were talking about some sort of bs going on with the election, abortion, etc. My oldest (10 yrs old) says "we should just get a bishop to excommunicate them, just like St. Thomas Becket did to that noble. Umm, sorry honey, things like that don't happen anymore. Too bad.

  6. I wrote the same thing yesterday, without the language. But I wanted to write the language and it was definitely in my head.

I am INFURIATED that this asshats did nothing for decades except preach tolerance (to the breaking of God's law) and social justice (to hell with God's justice) and I can't put my son in Catholic school because if I do, someone is going to give him a workbook to explain what to do if "Mommy's friend Bob" comes into his room at night and tries to put his hands in my son's pajamas -- my son sleeps soundly without any knowledge that the Bobs are out there and THEY ARE THE BOBS. They either are, or they are covering for them, or they are holding Gay and Lesbian Mass and Pot Lucks for them. And NOW they announce they're going to form a committee to discuss how to "protect the family"!!!!

THEY have spent decades destroying the family, and now they're going to give some lip service to protecting it. Now that it's too late? Now that every Jesuit in the country is voting in the hysterically pro abortion, pro gay marriage administration? Now that Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank will be running the country UNCHECKED?

NOW they think maybe they should do something?

I know Jesus said the gates of Hell wouldn't prevail. But the fact that there's still the remnant of Holy Mother Church in Rome does me absolutely no good in Orlando. All week I've been trying to figure out how to confess "I hate the bishops." I guess I just hate what they have done to the Church and the country (and the world?) but it feels very much like I hate them.

  7. I for one am fed up with all of it. I have resolved to calling out all bullshit the first moment I see it. It has started with my in-laws recently. They are a bunch of new age, democrats, social justice Catholics. My wife told them where they were going off track and then I nuked them.

I just can't continue to be charitable I have lost to intestinal fortitude to be so. Maybe it is out lack of Faith that makes us hate, I better figure something out!

  8. Wait a second I need to ask all you a question. Are you saying that the American Bishops are bad or all Bishops are bad?

Because there is a big difference between the 2.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Smiley,
    Fair question.

I believe that many are bad... but most are simply gutless cowards.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Well the Bishops are the sucessors of the Apostles would it then be fair to say that today insted of one Judas we have many?

Yet and yet still despite the fact that they are not good, we as Catholics are still obliged to respect them are we not? After all the man may be bad but the office of Bishop is a holy office and so we respect the office and not the man in the red hat right??

And we pray for the man who is the bishop becasue we are Catholic and that is what we do right?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Smiley,
No. We are under no obligation to respect "them". However, I agree with you that we are obliged to respect the office.

Like we use to say in the Marines, "respect the rank, but the man EARNS respect".

And I also agree with you that they are in fact, the Sucessors of the Apostles. But even to that, I say; so? Many a Catholic bishop embraced the heresy of Protestantism during Luther's Revolt against The Church.

I ask you to keep in mind that even though they are the Sucessors of the Apostles, Pope Paul VI once stated that "the smoke of satan has entered the sancuary"... and even more importantly, Christ Himself sent His Holy Mother to warn us that "The work of the devil will infiltrate even into The Church" ~ Akita, Japan. 1973

Lastly, please keep in mind that the link I provided proved that 2/3's of out bishops aided and abbetted homosexual rapists.

May God have mercy on them. They'll need it.

  12. I am aware of the 'Smoke of satan comment'. I am concerened that a common brush may be applied to all the bishops and in the process the few good ones might be maligened too.
Yes i know that the American and Canadian bishops have forsaken thier flocks. hey we had Vatican II remeber, yet despite all of that we must remeber that bishops, cardinals, preists and the pope are all men and being so they can make errors. We should pray for them, like our Heavenly father rich in mercy slow to anger.
I do not know the personal issues you have had to experience, i hope i am not upsetting you unduly. I am just hoping that maybe i am over reading into the issue of respect for the heirachy of the church.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Smiley,
No worries! I'm not unduly upset at all. On the contrary, I welcome your thoughts.

And as far as me applying a common brush to all the bishops, I'll just re-post what I had up earlier... "I believe that many are bad... but most are simply gutless cowards."

I'd just like to remind that I said "most", not "all". And like I've pointed out, the facts speak for themselves; most of the American bishops were part and parcel to protecting rapists. What they did wasn't simply "errors". They were felonies.

Please don't think I lack respect for Holy Mother The Church. I love The Church. Bit I also am sick to death of seeing Her raped on a daily basis by Her own sons.

In closing, I ask you to click on both of the links I have on the left side of the blog concerning the Church approved apparitions of The Holy Mother to Sister Agnes Sasagawa at Akita, Japan back in 1973. What The Blessed Virgin warned of back then is coming to fruition.

Remember, Jesus sent His Mother to warn us for a reason.

  14. It is not just the bishops, it is a general leadership crisis in our country. Who in any leadership position do you trust?

Mother Thresa warned of this on every visit when she told us we live in a culture of death when life itself has no value and we worship at the alter of the dollar. Now the dollar collapses and billions go up in smoke. We have a genocide of the innocent babies that continues and may vote the mass murder expert into office in Obama who has never seen a baby he did not want to kill, even his grandchild should his children go up and become pregnant with an "unwanted child".

However, I see a lot of whining about bishops, but do not see faithful Catholics outside their doorstep with signs protesting their actions or lack of actions. Maybe we need to be more vocal and demand action. Catholics who do not belive in the teaching of the church seem to have no problem going to the bishop yet the faithful that actually belive in the teachings seem to remain silent unless we comment on a blog or sit and whine using it as an excuse for our own lack of faith. I think Catholics need to organize and march to demand the bishop to follow church teaching and preach as they should and live a holy life.
