I'll bet this guy left The Church and became a Prottie
Can you feel the love? I know I can. Here's some of the article from The Chicago Sun-Times; (Emphasis mine)
Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh talked of his reverence for Notre Dame Stadium earlier this week. A few days later, his starting right tackle trashed the place while providing the Irish with bulletin-board material heading into Saturday's game (1:30 p.m, Ch. 5, 890-AM).
''I hate it, playing up there,'' Chris Marinelli told cardinalreport.com after practice Wednesday. ''The field, excuse my language, the field sucks. The stadium sucks. I think the area sucks.
''I grew up with a bunch of Irish and Italian Catholic people back home,'' said the 6-7, 297-pound senior from Braintree, Mass. ''And all the Irish Catholic people, all they talk about is Notre Dame this, Notre Dame that. And they've never even been there, you know. So I hate those guys, I hate that school.
''We are going out there to mash them up, and that's all there is to it.''
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over.
What do you expect but envy from a school that eschewed it's ethnic mascot for one that relishes its own?
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, Notre Dame University sold out its Catholic heritage long ago. We traditionalist, right wing Catholics ought to hate the place too.
ReplyDeleteChes,
ReplyDeleteI hate what's happened to ND. But I can't say that I hate the school itself. To do so would entail hating over 100 years of pre-Vat II Catholicism at the UND.
Chesty,
ReplyDeleteI might like some of their history, but I hate Notre Dame for what it is and for the administration's lack of balls to correct the outright heresy coming out of that place. And I'm half Irish, so no leprechaun mascot is another reason to hate them.
