And It Only Took 40+ Years For The Lights To Come On
But is the toothpaste out of the tube?

The once Catholic bulwark that was Latin America is slowly, but steadily, becoming Protestant. Hmmm... kinda like how once Catholic Europe is becoming moslem?

But I digress, Here's some of the article from the Catholic News Agency; (Emphasis mine) Brazilian bishop: Catholics turn to religious sects because they don’t see God in the Church

Vatican City, Oct 16, 2008 (CNA).- Archbishop Walmor Oliveira de Azevedo of Belo Horizonte in Brazil said this Monday during the Synod of Bishops that religious sects continue to pose a challenge, saying that if Catholics abandon the Church to join a sect it is “because they do not encounter God in her.”

During his intervention at the Synod, the Brazilian bishop said, “Often the simple people who leave our Church do not do so because of what non-Catholic groups believe, but fundamentally because of how they live out that membership, not for dogmatic reasons, but pastoral ones, not for theological problems, but because of the methods within our Church.”

The archbishop underscored that “many of those who turn to sects don’t want to leave the Church but are sincerely searching for God.”

The archbishop emphasized the sects in Latin America
are filled with former Catholics...
Liberation Theology - horizontal worship - the bar of excellence and expectations that's so low, it's indistinguishable from a sewer pipe, etc, etc.

Gee, I can't figure out why people are leaving The Catholic Church in droves... can you?

  1. New Mass + New Catechesis = this mess.

New Mass + verticalization - New Catechesis = vocation increase, which is why the Church in Africa, Peru, Asian countries is doing so well inspite of the Novus Ordo.

  2. I visited Brazil this year with my wife. We visited several churches in the diocese of San Paolo. Every single church we visited had a little cranny to the front, right of the church to where the tabernacle had been moved so as to form a "Blessed Sacrament Chapel". Every single church. My wife said that four years ago when she was last there that the tabernacles had all been in the front, center of the churches. It seemed to me that such a change could only take place by the mandate of the bishop. Now a Brazilian bishop is lamenting the fact people don't see God in the Church in Brazil. It may be because of a reason related to the fact that the tabernacles have been hidden.

  3. The Church in Brazil is dying due to Theology of Liberation and Charismatism. They are either overly emotional or marxist. They can't figure out that the problem is with themselves. Such a bunch of cowards and disoriented prelates with years of theologic studies can not see the light? Why is it so heavy to admit they have been wrong all those years? God is showing them they are wrong, they just dont want to admit it!
