Is This The Point Where We All Put That Shocked Look On Our Faces?
By their fruits, you shall know them

And by "fruits", I mean the homo-rapist that the good Archbishop protected. Here's some of the article from Catholic World News; Diocese formerly headed by Archbishop Gregory withheld abuse evidence

St. Louis, Aug. 11, 2008 (CWNews.com) - A former president of the US bishops' conference has been accused of withholding evidence about an abusive priest from a review board.

In an Illinois court case, Margaret Mensen-- who headed a board studying clerical abuse in the Belleville diocese-- has testified that former Bishop Wilton Gregory did not provide full records of priests who had been accused of molesting young people. In a sworn deposition Mensen said that her panel would have investigated rape charges against Father Raymond Kownacki, but those charges were never disclosed to the board.
Kownacki, who was removed from ministry in 1995, is now being sued by a former altar boy who says the priest molested him in the 1970s. The Belleville diocese is asking to have the case dismissed on the grounds that the statute of limitations has lapsed. The court could allow the case to proceed if it finds that the diocese was guilty of "fraudulent concealment" of evidence in the case.

Msgr. James Margason, who was vicar general for the Belleville diocese under then-Bishop Gregory, has conceded that he did not supply full information about the charges against Kownacki to the review board.
With shepherds like this, who needs wolves?

  2. No surprise. Until the bishop's ranks are cleaned out things are not going to get better.

  3. Until some of these guys start being prosecuted for violating the law, they will keep doing it.

  4. Gregory gave the OK to the churches in Ga to implement what they call the "Elijah Cup Program," that said plenty to me. Look it up...Priests chalices (cups) as they refer them, are given to a certain parishioner after mass, after it was filled with the consecrated wine (blood)at said mass..reason so they can take it home for a week where they can pray for vocations. Unreal!

Yet not one person will tell you when and how this farce ever came to be. When asked if the Pope knows about it and approved it? All they say is that it has the bishop's approval. How in heaven's name can anyone still attend a novus ordo, beats me. People have been taught nothing but lies for the last 40 yrs.

  5. Mary Louise,
Quoting George Carlin? That's the best you can do? Oh well.

Anyhow, in response to your rather silly comment (You must believe that Jefferson, Paine, Washington, Franklin, et al went to hell, so why aren't you saying so? Political correctness?)

No PC on this blog. I've brought up Invincable Ignorance many a time. Obviously, you haven't been paying attention.

Maybe you should research things a wee bit better. That way, you won't put your foot in your mouth.
