If so, you'll remember this certain scene...
Even though it was "Hollywooded-up", remember the scene where the Nazis beat the hell outta members of an Austrian Catholic Youth group? And yes, that scene is based on an actual event. But anyhow, isn't it sad where in a country such as Austria where not all that long ago, Catholics had to suffer beatings (and sometimes even death) at the hands of evildoers as so to defend The Faith, has degraded to this?
From The Brussels Journal; (Emphasis and warning mine)
Gloria Television made a short video of the works that shows Hrdlicka’s depiction of the flagellation of Christ with a nude Roman soldier performing a lewd act on the Lord's body. (WARNING!! It's as disgusting as you think it may be.)
Vienna’s Cathedral and Diocesan Museum was founded in 1933, and describes itself as “one of the exquisite gems amongst the many museums in Vienna”. It is located adjacent to the Archbishop’s Palace of Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, O.P.
Beware the Holy Spirit when you piss him off.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could say this surprizes &/or shocks me. It doesn't. Given the pictures of a lot of the newer Catholic (used loosely) Churches that I've seen & other things I've read, this is about par for the course.
ReplyDeleteDisgust is another thing. That IT DOES!!!!!
I think they need a visit from the "Heretic Whisperer"!
Anathema!
ReplyDeleteCavey,
ReplyDelete"The Cardinal" is one of my favorite movies. It shows how beautiful the old pre-Vatican II ways were, and how lifeless the post-Vat world is.
Finally gave up on my old VHS version and purchased the DVD. Still outstanding!
