A pathetically small number

Bishop Malone of the Diocese of Portland, Maine was instumental in defeating the pro-sodomite legislation that was on the ballot in that particular state. As one of the links below pointed out, Portland is a small diocese. How did they come up with $500,000 to fight the battle?

Here's one of the main reasons - less than 5 dozen bishops nationwide authorized funds to the battle waged by Bishop Malone against the forces of evil. Last time I checked, there were well over 300 members of the USCCB.

Nearly five dozen bishops and dioceses nationwide contributed to the Diocese of Portland’s successful efforts to prevent the legalization of same-sex marriage in Maine, according to campaign finance records. The largest contributions came from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the Diocese of Phoenix, each of which donated $50,000 to the effort.
