"I'm not a Socialist" ~ Barack Hussein Obama

Interesting little article from the LA Times; (Emphasis and comments mine)
Barack 'I am not a socialist' Obama sells healthcare reform in Green Bay

Pitching a program that would cost $1.5 trillion over the next decade, Obama acknowledged that his plan to cover uninsured Americans will cost "a good deal of money at a time where we don't have extra to spend."

But with premiums going up three times faster than wages, with 46 million people in America uninsured "and a whole bunch of people who are under-insured," the president said that "we've got to solve the problem now before it overwhelms the whole economy."
(Did you like that? "A whole bunch of people". Not a specific number... not a certain percentage. Just verbiage that one would expect from a 12-year-old.)

As for Republican fears that he secretly plans to socialize medicine, Obama said, "Great Britain has a system of socialized medicine. I don't know anybody in Washington who is proposing that. Certainly not me." (I guess that $1.5 trillion is a figment of my imagination.) With the U.S. government now owning huge pieces of the private sector, such as GM and Chrysler and half of Wall Street, Obama likewise rebutted charges that he is some sort of megalomaniac who wants to run the healthcare system too.

"I've got enough stuff to do," he said. "I've got North Korea and Iran, Afghanistan and Iraq. I don't know where people get this idea that I want to run stuff. I think it would be great if healthcare system was working perfectly." ("By their fruits, you shall know them". But the sheeple lap it up.)

And him sounding more like Larry Mondello from The Leave It To Beaver show than the President of the United States with his whiny "I've got enough stuff to do", makes it somewhat difficult for me to have any sympathy for him.

Possibly if he spent a little less time sightseeing in Paris, kissing moslem ass in Cairo and conducting insipid town hall meetings in Green Bay, if he actually did some work, he might find a more receptive constituent in me.

Snowball's chance...

I was in Green Bay this morning. Nobody cared much about this useless pile of poo, except that it was difficult to park for a while.

Sounds about right from the heartland, to me.

"I am not a socialist!" - Obama

Why am I getting a flashback to Clinton & "I did not have sexual relations with that women." & Nixon's "I am not a crook."?

Two notes of interest.

1) Obama could not use the "46 million uninsured" number because it is grossly inaccurate--it includes illegals, for openers. The real number of uninsured US CITIZENS who actually WANT insurance is around 5 million (or less) which certainly doesn't require a $Trillion.

2) Only AP reported that 'there were several hundred protesters' along the caravan's path in Green Bay. That is a VERY large number for Green Bay, mid-workday.
