I'll give it an 8. It's got a good beat and you can dance to it
Absurd and insipid reach a new low in the great spiritual desert otherwise known as the Cape Fear Deanery. "C" sent this in response to NYPD Green's posting on the upcoming (one time shot) Traditional Latin Mass here in Wilmington;
And to ensure the record is straight, "C" isn't a hard-core Traddie. He's a young guy who was raised in the Novus Ordo and has tried his whole life to be a good Catholic.
And without any prompting from the likes of me, he's starting to see for himself what a horrible direction the Church in America is taking, and what kind of garbage the Novus Ordo opens the door for.
BTW "C", hat tip to NYPD Green (not me) for passing the word!
The people at that parish should stage a walk-out!!
ReplyDeleteOr maybe a pray-in: Sing the Our Father in Latin with megaphones!!
ReplyDeleteFrom the,'from the mouths of babes' department.
ReplyDeleteMy wife was trying to figure out how 'The Sound of Silence' fit with the Our Father, so she tried singing a few bars while cleaning up after dinner. Our 8 year old who has autism looked at her during her 'performance' and deadpanned, 'I don't get it'.
Go figure, what is probably considered part of the 'target audience' for such liberties in liturgies aren't getting their socks rocked like these music liturgists would like to think!
How in the theological place of eternal damnation can the Our Father be sung to the tune of "Sounds of Silence"?
ReplyDeleteWhat next "Tiptoe thru the Tulips"?
INFAMIA!!!!
PS Don't let the DBQ liturgical committee find out, or it will be required here as well.
