The Key Word Here Is "Compromise"
Anyone else see that?
Lots of talk concerning the Regularization of the SSPX being dead in the water. Hold on sports fans... the only thing here that's dead is any rumors of compromise.
The Society has always held firm that the so-called "excommunications" not be lifted, but be declared null and void. Nothing new there.
The Society has held firm that the Mass of Pius V be freed. Nothing new there.
The Society has always held firm they the SSPX retain their own bishops. Nothing new there.
Now if Bishop Fellay actually did compromise on anything, now THAT would be newsworthy. The next few days, weeks, months (years?) will tell. In the meantime, one thing is undeniable; the pendulum is starting to swing the other way.

There has been a lot of blogging on this subject.
I'm kind of taken aback and even a little saddened at the amount of hostility directed toward the SSPX by otherwise traditional Catholics. Having attended Mass at SSPX chapels for a couple years now (there are no "indults" around here), I've seen a variety of personalities within the society. Yes, some come across as a little arrogant, but most are simply trying to live Catholic lives in a Church infected with modernism and they have a real sorrow about the state of the Church. I've met the US district superior, Fr. Fullerton, and a nicer, soft spoken, and humbler man you'll not meet.
Considering the shape our Holy Catholic Church is in right now, I thank God for the SSPX. For the life of me I don't understand the hostility toward them.
