Face it, hating Catholics and conservative Blacks are the only acceptable bigotries left in America

This was forwarded to me. Interesting timeline that the "news" fails to make the connection on. From the Plain Dealer (Cleveland, OH); (Emphasis mine)
A 64-year-old Akron man was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole Tuesday for raping an 8-year-old boy in 1992. Joseph N. Williams, a former Catholic priest and attorney, was found guilty by a Cuyahoga County jury last week on kidnapping and rape charges following a two-day trial.
He raped the 8-year-old in 1992 at a nursing home in Warrensville Heights, where the boy's family had gathered to visit a family member. The jury also learned that Williams sexually molested a 12-year-old boy beginning in 1984 in another county.
Williams was a priest from 1969 to 1976 and served as a chaplain at Lorain Catholic High School. He then left the church and became a lawyer in the 1980s. He retired in 1998, prosecutor's spokesman Ryan Miday said.
Does the paper report: Local lawyer convicted of child rape? No, of course not. The fact that he was a priest and abandoned the Faith 16 years earlier is a much juicier headline. Hell, they may as well have said Former Paper Boy Rapes 8-Year-Old.
This anti Catholic bigotry is outrageous.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to crimes against Catholics priests, all laws are thrown out the books, statues of limitation, forget about it. He could of done this crime in 1922 and it still wouldn't of mattered.
ReplyDeleteJesus said it'd be like this, so I really shouldn't complain
But this is something I've always noticed since the sex scandal all laws are thrown off the books. Will that ever happen for a Protestant? Of course not.
I know I've read more than once that a higher percentage of Protestant clergy indulges in this particular offense against God.
ReplyDeleteArkanabar,
ReplyDeleteI read it was about 10% against the 1% of Catholic priests.
