We called this situation "malicious compliance."<br /><br />There is NOTHING ancient about the Novus Ordo Missae. Funny thing, the Jews in Jesus' time used Hebrew as a religious language. It was not the vernacular way back then. Aramaic and the Koine were. The classical Arabic of the Koran is still de rigueur with the Muslims.
