No tree hugger, no hippie (UGHHHHHHHH!!!!), no pantheist, just the real Catholic San Francesco is found in this book. The San Francesco I know & love is in his book.

To anyone who reads this comment, get the book, read it, give it as a gift. Frank Rega has provided us with an excellent opportunity to get the truth out there.Alhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07721319432213055605noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18853193.post-89774372184357857282008-04-08T04:03:00.000-05:002008-04-08T04:03:00.000-05:00Patron Saint of Eccumenism, lol, if and only if th...Patron Saint of Eccumenism, lol, if and only if the idea of Eccumenism is to convert to the True Faith, the Holy Catholic ChurchJoe of St. Thérèsehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06506671882770822003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18853193.post-78197203971695772682008-04-07T11:14:00.000-05:002008-04-07T11:14:00.000-05:00Amen, frater meus. This is the Francis that I knew...Amen, frater meus. This is the Francis that I knew and admired when I first became a Christian. I did not find out about his alter-ego, Frankie the mellow tree-hugging hippie, until some years later. If I remember my Old Testament history, Elijah was also an animal lover, being fed by ravens in the desert, but his idea of ecumenism was to challenge the pagan priests to a divine fireworks contest, then slaughter them all when their god didn't show up.

Let's not forget, as well, that many early Franciscans went to Barbary, Spain and the Holy Land and did meet their martyrdom, preaching in front of mosques, denouncing the heretic Muhammed, etc... That is fact.

And I've read another account that al-Malik converted after hearing St.Francis preach to him, but told him that his men would kill him if they found out, so he kept it secret. (I'm not sure how much I trust this part of the story, but in a way, it's the least important part, as far as St.Francis' reputation is concerned)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18853193.post-26209983608676362212008-04-06T11:51:00.000-05:002008-04-06T11:51:00.000-05:00You had me worried for a minute.
