I had never seen it so quiet. Actually parked closer than a five dollar cab fare to the door. Coincidence?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18853193.post-1146659503326326492006-05-03T07:31:00.000-05:002006-05-03T07:31:00.000-05:00It didn't seem to drive business to halt.I live in...It didn't seem to drive business to halt.
I live in a town in the south with a large hispanic population. I like them - they are religious and very family oriented. The children are learning English quickly and they will become good citizens. I would like to slap the politicians and "activists" who stoke the fires of resentment and entitlement.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18853193.post-1146656530770811602006-05-03T06:42:00.000-05:002006-05-03T06:42:00.000-05:00Yesterday, at Mass in the prayers of the faithful ...Yesterday, at Mass in the prayers of the faithful we were instructed to pray for the "undocumented" and for those "fanning the fires of fear and racism" --folks who are against amnesty. Either a whole lot of people ignored the protest or businesses discovered that they can function without illegals afterall. Let's have more "days off".Dymphnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01469622835449220113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18853193.post-1146577650908154822006-05-02T08:47:00.000-05:002006-05-02T08:47:00.000-05:00That picture reminded me off what happened while I...That picture reminded me off what happened while I lived in Bham AL.

I was ON THE INTERSTATE going 70 miles on an hour & had to come to a screeching halt as 3 pick up trucks stoppped ON THE INTERSTATE. What happened next? 30+ mexican migrant workers jumped out of the back of those trucks & dodged traffic.

I found out later that is common practice. Contract workers/farmers etc will pick up these immigrants from various street corners & they would work for them. At 5pm when the day was done, the "boss" will just drop them off in traffic near-ish where he picked them up.

And contrary to what anyone hoped to accomplish from the "day off" the US did not come to a screeching halt.

You want to know what I saw? I saw white and black people working on the highways & building houses... for a change.

What makes me wonder... how the holy hell can anyone build our homes & roads when they can't follow instructions? Most of this immigrants can't speak or read english & are barely literate in their own language.

I can't read IKEA's instructions, so you get my drift. That would be illegal aliens you knob! Just freakin say it! Everyone wants to be politcally correct these days. That is how we got to the point where sin is no longer sin, it's alterante lifestyles or other life choices.

BTW, not all of them are working. I am all for whatever it takes to get them to pay taxes and whatnot, but they are illegal, just call it what it is.

Go Navy

Andrew, O.P.Fr.
