Key Obama state in 2012 not so hot for Obama, policies
North Carolina's Elon University recently polled 594 North Carolinians on a number of national topics and how they relate to them (4.02 +/- margin of error).
The Obama campaign has made no secret that they consider North Carolina a must-win battleground state in his Southern strategy to retain the White House in 2012.
The Elon Poll surely doesn't bode well for the president's re-election strategy at this point in the game.
According to the poll:
When asked if they approve or disapprove of the way Obama is handling his job as president;50.8% either disapprove or strongly disapprove.
41.7% either approve or strongly approve.
