Was Jesus an Illegal Alien?
Oops... I mean "Undocumented Worker"

It has been reported by The California Catholic that during the keynote speech to a group of Catholic business leaders at the annual Legatus Summit at Naples, Florida , the Los Angeles Coadjutor Archbishop José H. Gomez (and automatic successor to the current Archbishop of Los Angeles, Roger Cardinal Mahony when he retires later this month) stated the following;

"Christians must ponder the mystery of “why did Jesus, the Messiah, the Son of God, choose to experience the conditions of an immigrant?"

Jesus Christ was never an immigrant. According to the New Testament writings, Christ stayed within the boundaries of the Roman Empire during His entire lifetime on Earth.

Christ was born in Judaea, an obscure and dusty province of the Roman Empire. Due to the barbarity of King Herod, the Holy Family fled to Egypt, yet another province of the Roman Empire.

I wonder how the other "immigrant communities" that make up the LA Archdiocese feel about the forthcoming archbishop's question?

When the Hispanic Left has successfully co-opted the word immigrant to mean Mexican illegal aliens...

Our Lady of Akita pray for us all!

Illegal means illegal.

We have a big problem with illegal alien Mexicans that demand their 'rights', government assistance, and law enforcement protection during the time they are here illegally.

Our State is mandated by Law not to give benefits to illegals.

Our State "gets her did" as the governor says by giving benefits to them anyway.

Law enforcement here has put out to the illegal community anyone filing Domestic Violence charges against citizens will get their help "getting their papers".

When you hear politicians speaking against something, it's a good bet they are doing what they are speaking against.

Sheriff Joe was on his back porch with a Dateline News reporter when the reporter asked:

“Your home was built by illegals, as well your neighbor’s homes, illegals probably housekeep and care for their kids, as well the landscapers are illegal”.

“How do you square that with your public position against illegals?”

End of interview.

We need to mount an attack upon the idea illegals are an indispensible part of America,

Right now the fight against illegal aliens is going nowhere.

We are not “Getting her did”.

Well, he was an itinerant--maybe the Bishop has a poor vocabulary?

At least, it's not as bad as the book saying Jesus was a space alien.

My politics stem from the gospel--my gospel does not stem from my politics.
