Alleged Catholic School to Admit "Openly" Homosexual Students

Those who have been described as "openly gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered" students are now granted placement into the Ottawa Catholic high schools system, according to Tom D'Amico, a superintendent for the Ottawa Catholic School Board.

He also specified, "A student who is openly gay in our schools, we want all of our students and staff to accept (them)."

Earlier this week, the Halton Catholic District School Board came under fire when it was revealed that the trustees voted last fall to ban gay-straight alliance clubs for students.

According to The Ottawa Citizen, D'Amico said the English Catholic school board doesn't use the name "gay-straight alliance" because the Assembly of Ontario Bishops -- to whom school boards look for spiritual guidance -- prefer a name that reflects a more general focus on equity and social justice.

My work place has just declared our former washrooms for women and men, gender neutral.

I get it but just the sound of it makes me cringe!
