You have just seen ALL of Quinhagak, believe me. Did you notice the size of the grocery store? Also, the buildings are up on stilts because of the permafrost. It is darned cold up there in the winter.
You can't drive there, and in the winter you are lucky to fly in. I suspect these kids are mostly Russian Orthodox, so it's not so strange that they would do this in a public school there.
