USCCB Prez: God - "Call it Him or Her or whatever you want"

In an interview with Fox News, the allegedly conservative President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York waxed poetically in regards to what we should be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

At the 4:20 mark, the good Archbishop actually stated;

"We're grateful to God. We're conscience that somebody, some... call it Him or Her or whatever you want..."One would be hard pressed to find like sentiments from Archbishop Sheen, St. Charles Borromeo, St. Athanasius or any other Catholic who knew even the basics of their Faith.

VSC ~ Hope that you and your family and all here had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

When Jesus, Himself (The Way, The Truth and The Life) offered up a Prayer to God The Father in The Lord's Prayer: "Our Father, Who Art in Heaven", etc. Jesus' Own Words should be "proof" enough of God's Masculinity. We just have to listen to Him.

Swell. The USCCB didn't elect a leader who favored a pervert who couldn't figure ot his sexuality, they elected a leader who can't figure out God's gender! Go figure!

Does this foolish mitered fool even comprehend what he is saying? Is it really more important to look "cool" for the camera than to be a "fool for Christ?"

G-d is revealed through Jesus. Not through "Her," or "whatever you want."

G-d help our prelates.

I think Apb. Dolan's true colors are coming out for all to see. First, the retired scandalous Apb. Weakland bares all in his memoirs, then Cardinal Christoph Schönborn's controversial homosexuality remarks, and now this from Apb. Cheese-Head who also commended a gay and lesbian group at a NYC "liberal" Catholic parish under his canonical authority.

I am not against gay and lesbian groups on the order of Courage, but I perceive these other groups at the parish level are pro-same sex sex and gay marriage and want the Church to de-factor recognize and approve of this.

BTW, Cardinal Schönborn, IIRC, is the principal author of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Now I am going to have to search the CCC for "irregularities!"

I think you are taking this dialog out of context--he said "Others" not us. Also, the homosexual slander is baseless--he applauded those who "could live as the Church has taught us to live," which means if they can live as celebates.

It isn't just us vs. them, sometimes here it's us vs. us. Take a breath and calm down. Dolan is still one of the good guys.
