Whoa. I am still scratching my head about the woman carrying the monstrance. I thought only a priest was allowed to do this? And sorry if this sounds judgmental, but she looked like she was lugging a sack of potatoes instead of reverently carrying our Lord. What a strange and sad video.
This priest needs some seminary remediation.
I am not totally sure of this, but IIRC a deacon can also carry the monstrance. In our "modern" Church, a deacon can bless the congregation with the Sacred Host in the monstrance during Benediction of the most Holy Sacrament.
That . . . priest! . . . a Mexican Pastor Breen! Ugh.
I am torn: The abuse is awful, but do you realize how seldom it is seen for a Eucharistic Procession to be done at all in the US? Two parishes in our entire Archdiocese! At least they are not ashamed of the Blessed Sacrament!Jeesh--someday I will read about the Church, and not have my brain addled, my sensibilites offended, or feel my civil and canonical rights are not at risk.Probably because I'll be dead and reading in the afterlife
1. When priests allow this kind of abuse to take place, thus having surrendered they their heirarchal authority, no one should be surprised that it just gives the Modernists and other Roman Protestants liturgists to push other abuses.2. Did you notice anyone (not those in the procession) kneel -- not just genuflect -- as the Holy Eucharist passed by their location?Further lack of catechesis.
