A while ago, I was at church for confession. Father was busy wth the last person, so I sat near the sacristy. The smell of holiness, cleaner than the heveans after rain. Familiar, old and present, peaceful. "Next year in Jerusalem" came to mind. I remember my little boy, sleeping next to me, while mom was out shoppng. This is what afternoons are for, and what peace feels like. Little snoring sounds. These memories can not be spoiled.

No, it's not just you. Just like Catholic-school imposed sex education and sexual abuse prevention aimed at children, the Catholic authorities (lay, religious, and clerical) are violating a teaching of the Church, i.e., that parents have primacy of jurisdiction over the temporal and spiritual lives of their children according to the Natural Law. Bring on Jack Chick! He's relatively a lot less objectionable than this stuff.
Folks if I may be Devil's Advocate (which I understand is the title of the job of the one who tries to prove a proposed saint wasn't) with the recent history of bishops like Roger Mahoney and Bernard Law moving around rapists, I don't blame them for putting this out. Yes yes I know that catholic priests are the only clergy who molest, and the SNAP folks go too far at times, but an ounce of prevention...
What happened to the responsibility of parents?
How many parents know where their children are? How many parents spend time with their children? Too often kids get passed off from school to after school programs. Weekends involve sports and other activities.
Part of the problem may be the ever increasing taxes which force both parents to work. But, let's not discount greed and other base motives which lead some mothers to pursue careers rather than take care of their kids. There's also the broken family syndrom because fewer and fewer respect the natural structure of the family.
If kids don't feel loved by their parents they become easy prey for pedophiles and other malicious adults.
A coloring book will solve nothing.
PS Pg 3 is heretical. God is not "a person." God is personal or three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
