The ever winnowing GOP presidential wannabe roll call.
~ Nevada Senator John Ensign shot himself in the foot (or some other body part south of the border) by cheating on his wife.
~ Bobby Jindal asked the "Jindal For President" PAC to suspend their efforts. Say it ain't so Bobby! (I haven't given up hope.)
~ South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford decided to hike the Appalachian Trail, or spike some Argentinian tail, or whatever the hell his weak-assed fairy tail was about screwin' around.
~ Now Governor Sarah "I'm Too Sexy for Juneau" Palin pulled the plug in a big way. Even though I believe this is her 'you're not going to have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore' moment, the reality of the moment is that she's outta the Governor's Mansion at the end of the month.
So who's still in the running? Honestly, just a handful of names that only political junkies recognize. How many Americans even recognize the following names: Eric Cantor, Tim Pawlenty, or Mitch Daniels? Locals, sure. But nationwide? Damn few.
So if anyone at the RNC is reading, know that The Caveman stands ready to step forward. I'm no Community Organizer, but hey... I got nothin' better to do right now.

Since you need to balance the ticket, I know a good Italiano American in DBQ that would be open to the VP spot.
You also need someone who can knock heads and get people moving in the right direction so I will apply for Chief of Staff, and if that is taken, Attorney General. Which we all know should really be more General and less Attorney!!

I have no idea what Sarah's game plan is but I'm kind of glad she's leaving. Her church was torched, her daughters have been called sluts, her baby has been mocked in public. It's one thing for me to be in harm's way but I could never put my family on the firing line with me.
In another America, long ago a political aide once went to Hubert Humphrey (I think) and told him that an opponnent's daughter was pregnant. Humphrey refused to use the information. It was inconceivable of him to use innocents in a campaign. We don't live in that America anymore and more's the pity.
I think the disappearance of good conservatives from the field of candidates is just part of the chastisement that is being visited on this country for its sins. Isaiah 3:1-5:
For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, is taking away from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water; the mighty man and the soldier, the judge and the prophet, the diviner and the elder, the captain of fifty and the man of rank, the counselor and the skilful magician and the expert in charms.
