San Francisco, CA (LifeNews.com) -- The University of San Francisco (USF) may be a Catholic educational institution but officials there have crafted a new student health care plan that covers abortions. Full-time undergraduate students at USF are automatically enrolled in the university's plan unless they request a waiver and prove that they have other, comparable insurance.
The Catholic Key obtained USF documents about the plan that show that it was “developed especially for eligible University of San Francisco students and their eligible dependents.”
To Patrick Reilly, president of The Cardinal Newman Society, that means the USF signed onto a specially-developed plan especially for its students instead of signing up for a generic plan that may or may not have included abortion.

OTTAWA — Ottawa’s archbishop would like all parishes in the sprawling diocese to kneel at the same time during the Mass.
Archbishop Terrence Prendergast said he is implementing what the Canadian bishops had decided a few years ago would be common practice throughout Canada when the new translation of the Roman Missal comes into use.
He never expected his request would become a front-page story in the Ottawa Citizen, describing the move as “authoritarian.” “It didn’t strike me as controversial,” he said. “But you can always line up people on either side of an issue.”
“I want harmony and unity in the diocese,” he said. “I felt we needed to move now, to make some movement towards a regular, balanced position on liturgy.”
Prendergast had informed his priests of the change last August, and said “a number” were not happy about it. Some expressed concerns that the archdiocesan liturgical commission was not consulted. He has also had some parishioners complain.
Some of the controversy over the change is theological, though Prendergast noted in his pastoral letter the reasons for standing: “expressing our (Since when is it about us?) dignity before God as his children set free by the death and resurrection of Christ;” and for kneeling: “to express adoration and reverence.”
Others have objected to being told what to do, though the Citizen had trouble finding people to comment publicly.
Others objected to the focus on a liturgical change when the Church faces other problems.
Parishioner Toddy Kehoe told the Citizen, “Is that all they have to think about? I don’t see the Catholic Church as doing loving things. “I don’t see them as the caring community they should be. It isn’t whether you stand or kneel.” I guess Jesus had it all wrong during The Agony in the Garden. He should have stood. But don't fret Toddy... it's all about you, isn't it?

Of course it all comes down to not wanting to be told what to do! No surprise there. Of course if they were told to hold hands in a circle around the altar, they would not mind that at all.

I know how to solve this problem, since they like to stand so much take out the pews, just provide rows of kneelers and handrails. If they get tired of standing they can kneel.

Ahh, echoing Lucifer once again, "I will not serve."
However, the clergy is much to blame. When they abandoned, or neglected, their ordained duty to be shepherds (leaders) and/or surrendered their leadership to "litigurcal committees", are they now surprised their sheep do not obey?

People don't love God enough, and or feel He's not worth the "trouble" to defend... what is right, good and holy. Then we wonder what's happening to this world of ours..to our families. SPEAK UP PEOPLE! You should have more fear of God than any priest, pastor or bishop. Did Christ not do enough for you and me, that we should remain quiet like little sheep. Yes, Christ did, only when he was lead to His death. Is this what we're afraid of? No one can harm you or your Soul if God is on your side. And if we are not on the side of Christ, then and Only then should they fear death!
