So... Damn...What?
And may God Bless Bristol Palin and her unborn child

Here's some of the article from the Chicago Tribune; (Emphasis mine) McCain knew Palin's daughter pregnant
Palin told McCain about the pregnancy during a private talk last week

[Campaign chief Steve Schmidt said] "The children deserve to be left alone. Her daughter has made a decision to have this child. She'll get married. Like any young couple with a child, it's hard....

"She's proud of her family and she loves her daughter''

Will the daughter's pregnancy have any bearing on Palin's ability to serve as McCain's running mate?

"I think your question is offensive,'' Schmidt said to a reporter asking the question. "It's a private family matter. The notion that that would bear on her capacity to be vice president is demeaning. I don't think you would ask that question if she was a man.''

Along a similar line, Schmidt was asked if the increasing burden of a family that now will have an added grandchild of a teenage daughter could be too much for the vice president, should McCain and Palin win election.

"I can't imagine that question being asked of a man,'' Schmidt said. "It's offensive.''
If anyone wants to beat-up on unmarried teenagers who find themselves pregnant, they can start by casting stones at the Virgin Mary and end with my own mother.

But in the meantime, leave Bristol Palin the hell alone. But we can all count on the Defeatocrat cockroaches crawling out of the woodwork.

Cockroach Update!

I didn't want to, but I just had to swing by The Daily Kos to see what was being said on the subject. And the hate dripping from the Defeatocrat jowls was as vile as it was predictable. I read post after post that would make Margaret Sanger and Adolf Hitler smile, but this one takes the cake; Absentee Mother Sarah Palin has a four month old special needs infant and a teenage pregnant daughter at home.

How is that going to play with the Fundie "Family Values" crowd?

Sarah Palin campaigns around the nation leaving her children unattended at home.

Silly me. Don't I know that abortion is always the answer? Oh, and if Sarah Palin is a stay at home mom, she's wrong. But if she works outside of the home, she's wrong.

OK! Now I'm thinking like a Democrat!!

  1. Because its not like any other VP has ever been a grandparent while still in office.

  2. Well, this might be the first time an unwed teenager has been pregnant. Oh wait, silly me, Barack's mommy was that way.

  3. JFK had young children while PRESIDENT, not just VP. So are all the Dems now ready to say he set a bad example, was a bad parent, should have stayed home raising his children instead of neglecting them, etc? That any man with young children is unfit for the office of POTUS?

Or are they really saying that women belong at home, raising children, and shouldn't have careers? Which is it?

Or maybe they're saying that the entire next generation should be aborted, and then we would have true equality between men and women (since no one would have to stay home and raise the children) and--as a bonus!!--there would be no children to wreak havoc on precious, fragile mother earth. (oops--did I say "mother" earth? I meant "parent" earth--wait, I meant-- oh, nevermind.)

  4. Excuse me a moment . . .

NO! THE KIDS ARE NOT UNATTENDED! WHAT, IS TODD PALIN CHOPPED LIVER?!?! WHAT'S THE MATTER, NCDEM AMY, YOU DON'T THINK A MAN CAN CARE FOR CHILDREN? WHAT, FATHERS ARE MEANT TO BE JUST SPERM DONORS?!

Ah! There, I got it off my chest.

  5. Tony Blair even conceived a couple while PM of Great Britain. In one of the Queen's bedrooms, no less, when his oh-so-Catholic wife famously forgot her "contraceptive equipment" (whatever that might be).

The second Aussie Catholic PM, the Rt Hon Joseph Aloyisius Lyons, raised no less than eleven children, and then died in office. His wife went on to become the first ever female member of the House of Reps. As if having 11 children and being the PM's wife wasn't enough...

So I second muscovite's comment...what is this really all about...

Women are supposed to have "reproductive rights", according to the Democrats, unless they are accusing Bill Clinton of rape or sexual harrasment, in which case they are publicity-seeking-Jezebels, or if they are Conservatives, in which case they shouldn't be "punishing us" with their children. It's sick.

I'm pleased the Palins see children as a blessing, not a "punishment".

  6. Cavey,

If the Virgin Mary were here today they would be condemning her for not having an abortion. I had an aunt who was actually my 1st cousin. Grandma & Grandpa Troup welcomed her as their own. That is how family works, love & support no matter what.

The Palins are everything that true Family values stands for.Let the left try to drive a wedge. It won't work.

  7. Well, you know, no DEMOCRATIC teenagers ever get pregnant, since they all use contraception. /sarcasm off

The truth is, they do get pregnant, and the government gives them welfare, WIC and heaven knows what else as a prize for having the kid out of wedlock and not marrying the father.

Or, they just abort/murder their kids and become bitter old hacks on the Daily Kos.

  8. These folks are forgetting about the shooting/gutting a moose thing--they might want to watch their filthy tongues and keep their heads down.

And then there's that mortal sin/calumny thing....

Well, they make it hard for me to pray for their depraved little souls, that's for sure.

  9. I second all of you guys. I don't approve of unmarried having sex, but what the hell else is there for kids to do out in Alaska?!

  11. "If anyone wants to beat-up on unmarried teenagers who find themselves pregnant, they can start by casting stones at the Virgin Mary".

(Remember: In those days the betrothal WAS the (legal) marriage. The custom was to live apart for a time after the betrothal to set up the house, considered unseemly for an unmarried couple to do.)

"When as his mother Mary was bethrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost." Matt 1:18.

Mary and Joseph were legally married at the time of the conception of Christ.

  12. BJB,
Agreed. I was more implying that the marraige was completed and finalized. As we both know, in the old Hebrew culture, the marraige wasn't considered final, until the marital bed was shared.

  13. Vir: I found plenty to do growing up in AK. Particularly in the winter. Here in Wisconsin there's just bowling or snow-mobiling. Boooooring. And mostly not enough regular snow to even go cross-country skiing on a regular basis. No wonder people around here spend so much time drunk. ;)
