Bobby Jindal For Vice President
A conservative SOMEWHERE on the ticket sure would be nice

A few months back, I posted how smart it would be if McCain chose former Maryland Lt. Governor Mike Steele as his running mate. Well, that went nowhere fast.

But as of late, the possibility of Governor Piyush "Bobby" Jindal of Louisiana (a staunch pro-life Catholic) has been popping up more and more often. Hell, Jindal or Steele would be the ONLY reasons that exist that would make me even consider voting for that RepubliCrat, McCain.

Like I said, Jindal's name is being mentioned. But don't count on anything actually becoming of it. As this snippet from the article clearly demonstrates McCain's dispositions towards Jindal; McCain also stuck closely to his traditional talking points when asked by a supporter about the possibility that he would choose the 37 year-old Gov for his number two, praising him instead as a member of the “next generation” of American leadership. The "next generation", 'eh?

Count on it... McCain'll screw it up and foist either the chameleonesque Mitt Romney, or the George Hamilton-wannabe Charlie Crist on us. In other words: the same old, same old.

But I hope I'm wrong.

  1. I think McCain knows he needs someone like Steele or Jindal on his ticket, to counterbalance Obama's "freshness". I've been praising Jindal for months as the best choice, and I think McCain is seriously considering it. He was in Louisiana hanging out with him this last week, wasn't he?

I think Steele may not be the best choice of the two, simply because of his failed Senate bid... it's hard to say someone is a qualified VP if they couldn't even be elected senator. Then again, Lincoln failed at his Senate campaign before becoming president. Hmm....

Jindal will be president someday. No doubt about it. He might as well start off as VP. :)

  2. Jindal looks good from this distance, but I'd like to seem him be a bit more seasoned before picking him for VP. Maybe after he's completed a term or two in Baton Rouge.

My favorite pick is SC Gov. Mark Sanford.

I'll place enormous importance on McCain's pick, and I'm awaiting that announcement with baited breath.

  3. Hope McCain doesn't have a lesbian daughter, who became a mother through in-vetro, nor has offered Ellen DeGenneret their property to promote their same sex "marriage" there (as they try to call it.)

  4. I think Governor Jindal would be a great choice for VP. He has a lot of experience for his age, if you consider his entire resume. I think the only chance McCain has is if he has a Conservative. If he does not pick Gov. Jindal then I think he should pick Gov. Sanford or Gov. Palin. I initially considered Lt. Gov. Steele also, but he has been aligning himself with the more moderate wing of the Party; I think McCain already covers that base.

I will say here what most of Louisiana is saying - we just got Jindal as our governor and we aren't giving him up until he has had the time to fix our state. Yes, we want to see him as President one day but, for now, he is ours. We can talk again in 4-8 years.

  6. I'd like to see the governor of Alaska as his pick, but I won't be holding my breath.

  7. It sounds good, of course I'm on board with any pro-Life Catholic being a VP nod.
