Yet Another Reason Why I Hate Rap
As if I needed another reason
As I was watching Sports Center this fine morning, as they spun the highlight reel, they played as background music, some abomination entitled "Champion" by Kanye "George Bush Hates Black People" West.
To say that West's bastardization of Steely Dan's "Kid Charlemagne" was simplistic, juvenile, down-right larcenous... well, all that would be an understatement.

Fagan and Becker's "Kid Charlemagne" is a classic. Larry Carlton's guitar solo is one of the all time greats. What the three of them did took skill and talent.
Kanye West's "version" is the musical equivalent of finger/booger painting, and is better suited to aficionados of the whole Dr. Seuss genre. *Apologies to Dr. Seuss*

I could only make it thru 20 seconds before I had to put a stop to it. Now if I could only permanently put it out of our misery.
That's because rap isn't music last time I checked.
