It's also the name of one badass poster from Idaho!
I found this over at Catholic Answers Forum. Nice to see we Bloglodytes aren't the only ones who've noticed this rather disturbing trend.
On this parish's website (or community, as they call themselves), the pastor says: "When I was first assigned to NNN (community) as pastor, the late Cardinal NNN looked at me and said, 'Keep it Catholic.' I think we have truly accomplished the Cardinal’s wishes."
Something I'd like to add as I contemplate that photo -- the Latin saying "Lex Orandi Lex Credendi" - you believe as you pray. In other words, if it waddles like a Protestant, lays eggs like a Protestant, quacks like a Protestant... take a wild guess what it really is.
It's actually quite simple. If you pray like a Protestant, don't be all that shocked if you end up believing like a Protestant. I wonder how many of these hand-holders actually believe in The Real Presence or have actually participated in the Sacrament of Confession in the last decade.
By the way.... anyone else notice the movie screens to the left and right of the picnic table... 'er, I mean the alledged "altar"? And where's The Tabernacle?
That is hideous and terrifying.
ReplyDeleteIf I wanted to come to church and act Prottie, I WOULD GO TO PROTTIE HERETIC CHURCH. Ugh.
hmmm.. Did they follow me to to mass last night? Yes, the screens to the left and right project the words of the hymns for the evening. And don't forget to turn and introduce yourself to your neighbor before mass begins... ARGHHH!!!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of my old grade school days, when at recess we would play "RED ROVER, RED ROVER, LET BILLY COME OVER!!!! Good grief!

ReplyDeleteHeck, these are amateurs. Welcome to the Diocese of Rochester, where one of the local church-in-the-round parishes has a SHADOWBOX on the back wall above the altar. That's right. So the liturgical dancers and/or Passion pantomimers can act stuff out during the consecration in silhouette. Because who wants to pay attention to what the priest is doing? Certainly not the floating touchdown Jesus suspended on invisible wires in the middle of the church with no cross. (BTW, the movie screen is retractable.)
ReplyDeleteWow... that picture is a flashback to a church I visited in NC! Whoa!
ReplyDeleteThat's a painful sight!
How many people are in the sanctuary?!

OK that isn't exactly how I feel. To get the real way I feel multiply it by 10 to the infinite power.
My eyes, my eyes, where's my spoon so I can pluck them out!
ReplyDeleteThis is hideous.
...uncontrolled barrffffing...
ReplyDeleteWhat you'll NEVER see in the Orthodox Church or Oriental Orthodox Church. I can't speak for Old Catholics.
ReplyDeleteExactly Why I attend an SSPX chapel and put me and my family under the shepherding of SSPX priests and Bishops only.
ReplyDeleteDave
Say Dave, where would one look to get in touch via internet with a SPPX chapel before going there, say if one was interested in being employed as a cantor/chorister etc?
ReplyDelete318@nice,
ReplyDeleteDoes "only" mean to imply you have something against the priests of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter or the Institute of Christ, Soverigh King?
Vir,
ReplyDeleteYou can find all the information:

Former altar boy,
No, I do not have anything against the other two Traditional Priestly societies.
The only time I have a problem is if there is no shepherding, no local congregation, and the TLM is only used as some kind of traveling side show.
But, if they do have a local congregation and they shepherd the people there then fine.
But, with the SSPX you get local congregations, your own priest who shepherds that local flock, Bishops who are Traditional, etc.
Better for me to say that I "prefer" the SSPX as of now. Hopefully one day there will be no need of the SSPX or the other societies.
