But The Militantly Anti-Catholic Atheist Still Skulks About In The Halls Of A Catholic School
Have you checked on your child's spiritual safety?

Ahhh... the more I look into the goings on at this particular Catholic school, the more interesting information I find. It turns out that their library offers something called the Accelerated Reader Program, which is used in many schools throughout the country. The goal is to assist children to read on there own level. For example: Mark and Mary are in the third grade. Mark reads at a 4th grade level, where as Mary only reads on a 2nd grade level. They are assigned to read books according to the level the individual tests. After completing the book, the student takes a quiz on the computer.

Commendable, ain't it? One would think.

Well, I went to their search index, and typed in the name of one Philip Pullman. Remember him? 10 of his books are listed by this particular Catholic school as available to Catholic schoolchildren. And to be perfectly honest, I don't really care how much some may claim that these certain 10 books are not part of the His Dark Materials trilogy, and therefore innocuous. Philip Pullman is a purveyor of evil and hatred... period.

He's the same individual who's proudly proclaimed "My books are about killing God" and "I'm an atheist. There's no God here. There never was". Amazing how he contradicts himself about killing God, then states that there is no God. How can he kill what he also denies the existence of? Typical of the arguments used by atheists.

But I digress, what I find to be particularly amazing is that his books are readily available at a Catholic school. Is it really asking so much that the publications of one who literally has his hatred for God and His Church dripping from his jowls, camouflaged as his hatred may be, kept away from impressionable young Catholic schoolchildren?

Is it really asking that much?

As Quick As In The Twinkling Of An Eye
UPDATE!!

Three short days ago (Saturday afternoon, to be specific) I asked the musical question "So Why Is A Teacher At A Catholic School Linking To This?" For those of you who are unfamiliar with what I'm talking about, scroll down.

Anyhow, as of this morning, the link to the anti-Catholic "author", Philip Pullman, is no longer listed on the links section of a particular teacher's webpage at a particular Catholic school.

But for those who would still like to see the original page, I found it cached. Click here to view.

Now I must ask some follow-up questions ---

1. Why is the link no longer there? Who made it go away, and why?
2. Why did the "higher-ups" at this school not take direct corrective action when he/she/they saw that link in the first place?
3. Are there those in positions of authority and leadership at least raising their eyebrows to the goings on at this particular Catholic school?

And the most important question;

4. Is the link in question just an anomaly... or are we just seeing the tip of the iceberg at this particular Catholic school?

The Gastronomic Gestapo Ready To Swoop Down
Und Oberst Klinton ist READY!!

At a recent Democratic Presidential Debate, The Wicked Witch of the North was asked about her plan to combat childhood obesity. And true to her Democratic Nanny State mentality, it's the responsibility of the government, not parents, to ensure that children eat a balanced diet.

Hillary will get my super-sized triple Whopper with cheese and bacon when she pry's it loose from my cold dead hands. You see, I'm smart enough lace up my PF Flyers and hit the bricks after a meal like that. I can run faster, jump higher... all that jazz.

But in all fairness, I must be some sort of a throwback. A caveman if you will. I don't need the government to order me to go running. I'm perfectly capable of making that decision on my own.

Wow... personal accountability. What a concept.

“Team bondage and spanking for pleasure”
Gay and Lesbian Outreach at St. Monica parish celebrates 16 years
WARNING! This post isn't for the kiddies

What was it again that Our Lady of Akita warned us of? Oh yeah.... that's right; "The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church"

Here's some of the article from The California Catholic Daily; (Emphasis mine)

“GLO” -- the Gay and Lesbian Outreach at St. Monica’s parish in Santa Monica -- is “Sweet 16,” said the group’s Sept./Oct. newsletter. After 16 years at St. Monica’s, the group is still “‘gloing’ strong,” according to the newsletter.

The newsletter, the first of the “season,” thanked everyone who showed up and helped out at the Pride Booth at last June’s “LA Pride.” The Ministry for Lesbian and Gay Catholics of the Los Angeles archdiocese sponsored the booth for the event, whose theme was “Our Agenda: Love, Equality, Pride.” In his message for the 2007 event, LA Pride’s president Rodney Scott announced that the weekend celebration would be
“headlined by the Dyke March.”

The event’s “PrideGuide” schedule indicated that the Saturday and Sunday, June 9-10, events would include a “Women’s Wet T-Shirt & Dildo Contest,” as well as “Planned Demos and Topics,” such as “team bondage,” “rope for sex,” “spanking for pleasure,” “Mummification – Bound for Pleasure,” “Flogging,” and “99 Cent Store Sex Toys.”
Satan is alive and well and attacking The Church from within. And don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise.

So Why Is A Teacher At A Catholic School Linking To This?
I report, you decide

Last night, a friend of mine and I were discussing how one of the teachers at a local Catholic school was linking to a certain author on the schools website. Well, I went to this particular teachers section on the school's website, and from there, to her links. Sure enough, I found the following;

Author Phillip Pullman's homepage. He writes a very interesting series of
books in the vein of Harry Potter.
http://www.philip-pullman.com/about_the_author.aspTo be honest, it seemed pretty ho-hum stuff to me until I found the following in my e-mail inbox this morning;
PLEASE NOTE AND PASS ON TO THOSE ON YOUR ADDRESS LIST: BE SURE TO ACCESS HE "SNOPES" WEBSITE MENTIONED IN THE ORIGINAL EMAIL. IT DESCRIBES THE MOVIE "THE GOLDEN COMPASS" SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE ON DECEMBER 7. IT IS A VIRULENTLY ANTI-CHRISTIAN FILM BASED ON NOVELS BY A BRITISH AUTHOR, PULLMAN, AND AIMED AT CHILDREN. ALL CHRISTIAN GROUPS SHOULD BE ALERTED TO THIS LATEST ATTACK ON RELIGION, AND PARENTS SHOULD BE ALERTED TO THIS LATEST ATTACK BY ORGANIZED ATHEISM.This particular e-mail went on to claim;

The movie has been dumbed down to fool kids and their parents in the hopes that they will buy his trilogy where in the end, THE CHILDREN KILL GOD, and everyone can do as they please. My, my!! Isn't that just slightly disconcerting? Well, said e-mail suggested swinging over to Snopes.com to verify if all this bruhaha is just another internet email fraud.

Well, according to Snopes, it aint. Here's some of what Snopes has posted; (emphasis mine)

The Golden Compass, a fantasy film starring Nicole Kidman that is scheduled to be released into theaters on 7 December 2007, has been drawing fire from concerned Christians. The film is based on Northern Lights (released in the U.S. as The Golden Compass), the first offering in Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy of children's books, a series that follows the adventures of a streetwise girl who travels through multiple worlds populated by witches, armor-plated bears, and sinister ecclesiastical assassins to defeat the oppressive forces of a senile God.

The series' author, Phillip Pullman, is an avowed atheist who has averred that "I don't profess any religion; I don't think it's possible that there is a God; I have the greatest difficulty in understanding what is meant by the words 'spiritual' or 'spirituality.'" Critics of Pullman's books point to the strong anti-religion and anti-God themes they incorporate, and although literary works are subject to a variety of interpretations, Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when he said in a 2003 interview that "My books are about killing God."
Things are starting to get curious, aren't they? Well, fellow bloglodytes, I thought I should check on some of these rather incendiary claims. And I most certainly did discover that Pullman stated in a 2003 interview with Steve Meacham of The Sydney Morning Herald; (emphasis mine)

"I've been surprised by how little criticism I've got. Harry Potter's been taking all the flak. I'm a great fan of J.K. Rowling, but the people - mainly from America's Bible Belt - who complain that Harry Potter promotes Satanism or witchcraft obviously haven't got enough in their lives. Meanwhile, I've been flying under the radar, saying things that are far more subversive than anything poor old Harry has said. My books are about killing God."Interesting, huh? So I decided to see what The Catholic League had to say about all this. (emphasis mine)

New Line Cinema and Scholastic Entertainment have paired to produce ‘The Golden Compass,’ a children’s fantasy that is based on the first book of a trilogy by militant English atheist Philip Pullman. The trilogy, His Dark Materials, was written to promote atheism and denigrate Christianity, especially Roman Catholicism. The target audience is children and adolescents.

Each book becomes progressively more aggressive in its denigration of Christianity and promotion of atheism: The Subtle Knife is more provocative than The Golden Compass and The Amber Spyglass is the most in-your-face assault on Christian sensibilities of the three volumes.

Atheism for kids. That is what Philip Pullman sells. It is his hope that ‘The Golden Compass,’ which stars Nicole Kidman and opens December 7, will entice parents to buy his trilogy as a Christmas gift. It is our hope that the film fails to meet box office expectations and that his books attract few buyers.
It certainly is obvious that Pullman and his works are not only non-Catholic... they're militantly anti-Catholic. And this takes me back to my original question; why is a teacher at a Catholic school linking to this?
"Catholicism's Achilles Heel" -
Judie Brown, President of American Life League

Judie Brown nailed this right on the head. I certainly couldn't have said it any better. Here's a bit of her op/ed piece from LifeSite.net; (emphasis mine)

Recent remarks by retired Cardinal Theodore McCarrick are a reminder of the tragic situation that exists within the Catholic Church these days. It is as though we were living in a twilight zone where there is no right or wrong, no moral absolutes of any kind, no guiding principles that apply in every situation regardless of the persons involved.

In a recent statement, Cardinal McCarrick took aim at Archbishop Raymond Burke’s treatise on why every person who distributes Holy Communion must be prepared to deny the sacrament to any public figure that is Catholic and is also pro-abortion. He said of Archbishop Burke, “I very much respect his position. It’s not mine.”

What exactly does that mean? It occurs to me that it means that the cardinal does not take Church law seriously, but rather perceives a myriad of choices with regard to how a particular canon in church law should be implemented. I find that astounding, but also perfectly understandable in today’s relativistic atmosphere.

The canon law in question is not confusing, but states quite clearly that those “who obstinately persist in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.” This particular canon is not any more debatable than one of the Ten Commandments or any of the other canon laws. In fact, the law in question is designed to accomplish two things: protect Christ from sacrilege and provide the errant Catholic with an example of how far he has strayed from Church teaching in the hope that the soul will repent and come back into the fold.

Cardinal McCarrick did go on to say that “pro-choice Catholic politicians” need to be persuaded that their position is wrong rather than denying them the body and blood of Christ. The precise reason why this thinking is flawed is perhaps best stated by Pope Benedict XVI, who while airborne in flight to Mexico a few months ago, told a group of reporters that the Mexican bishops’ threat of excommunication for Catholic politicians who voted in favor of the new abortion law “was not something arbitrary, but part of Church law. It’s based simply on the principle that the killing of an innocent human child is incompatible with going to communion with the body of Christ.”

The Holy Father’s words rang around the world, as one Catholic writer opined, and even moved evangelicals like Dr. James Dobson and Frank Pastore to hail his courageous statement. So why isn’t every single bishop, priest, deacon and Eucharistic minister in the Catholic Church equally motivated and inspired by this pope?

I fear the answer to this question is that there is too much political posturing and not enough commitment to saving souls in far too many places within the Catholic Church these days.

A Few More Thoughts On The "No Blood For Oil" Mentality
Liberal arguments are SOOOO easy to dissect

Next time one of the Great Unwashed throws their favorite screech at you, just ask them the following;

1. After The Gulf War, how many divisions did we keep in the Saudi Arabian oil fields? Ummmm..... lemme think. That's right, zero.

2. After The Gulf War, how many divisions did we keep in the Kuwaiti oil fields? Ummmm..... lemme think. That's right, zero.

3. After The Gulf War, how many divisions did we keep in the then US occupied southern marshlands (and oil soaked, I might add) oil fields of southern Iraq? Ummmm..... lemme think. That's right, zero.

4. If it really is nothing more than blood for oil, why did we liberate the entire country of Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom? Why didn't we just stop at the southern marshlands oil fields? Ummmm..... lemme think. That's right, because it really isn't all about 'blood for oil'.

But in all fairness, don't expect Liberals to recognize the obvious or to utilize any common sense.

My Kingdom For A Digital Camera!
For want of a digital

As Mrs. Caveman and I were driving home from Mass the other day, we drove by a herd of 60's rejects (The Great Unwashed), and rich White kids who obviously were suffering from severe cases of Trust Fund Guilt. The Che Guevara t-shirts and the $35,000 vehicles they were driving were a dead give away.

But anyhow, I couldn't help but laugh when I saw that they were unloading their "NO BLOOD FOR OIL!" signs from their top of the line SUV's.
WHY Are Idiots Like This Still In "Good Standing" in The Church!!??
Where's Torquemada when ya need him?

But then again... you can't Torquemada anything! OK, enough of the History of the World, Part I references. I'm checking out my daily news sources, and I come across this lil' gem --

“Systems that disempower the laity”
Nun to speak in Palo Alto on how to resist “patriarchal approaches to church leadership”

Burlingame Mercy Sister Eloise Rosenblatt, who gave a keynote address for the Northern California Lay Convocation at St. Francisco’s St. Mary’s Cathedral in June, (in the cathedral, proper... 'eh? Nothing that happens in the Archheresy of San Francisco surprises me any more) will speak on “Countering and Challenging Patriarchy in the Church” on Oct. 27 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church Hall in Palo Alto.

The event, sponsored by the Thomas Merton Center (how fitting to be named after this heretic) in Palo Alto, was advertised in the Oct. 16 Valley Catholic, the newspaper of the San Jose diocese.

According to the Oct. 14 Thomas Merton Center bulletin, Sister Eloise will address the question: “How do progressive Catholics ("progressive Catholics" is "Protestant" spelled sideways), who wish to stay members of the Roman church, change the entrenched patriarchal church systems that disempower the laity in general, and women in particular?” Sister “will take a broad analytical approach and recognize how subordination works culturally and doctrinally,” said the bulletin. “She proposes long-term strategies for resisting and reforming patriarchal approaches to church leadership, by invoking the church’s own teaching.” (In other words; how to turn Creeping Protestantism into Raging Protestantism.)

Sister Eloise, both a feminist theologian (AKA: lesbian pagan) and a doctor of law, directs ELOROS Inc. (Education, Law, and Religious Organizations), which, says the bulletin, is “a non-profit organization that provides parish inservice education about employment issues and California’s mandatory antidiscrimination training.”

In the past, Sister Eloise has addressed other “progressive” gatherings. She offered workshops at the 1998 and 2005 Call to Action West Coast Conferences on the topics, “Keeping your church job,” church law, and clergy sexual exploitation of adult women. Call to Action is a group that promotes public dissent against Church teaching on women’s ordination, homosexuality, birth control, and other matters. (That says it all)

In 1997, Sister Eloise was a workshop presenter at the Catholic Women Network’s Annual Conference, where attendees learned about eastern spiritualities, “Goddess qualities,” mandalas, and “Holistic/Ecofeminist Spirituality.” (That says it all, part II)

Thank You, Cardinal Mahony
...and I'm sure St. Vibiana is thrilled, as well

I love this headline, don't you?

Scantily clad women, two men kissing, and a transvestite
Here's a bit of the article from The California Catholic Daily;

Los Angeles’ former cathedral, St. Vibiana’s, built in 1876, has gotten a new life since the Los Angeles archdiocese sold it to developer Tom Gilmore in 1999. It is now called “Vibiana’s Place,” and reopened as an art center in 2006.

Church law requires that former churches be used for a dignified purpose,” archdiocesan spokesman Tod Tamberg told the Associated Press in 2005. St. Vibiana’s transformation into an art center is “really a wonderful second life for the former cathedral," said Tamberg.

From Oct. 11-13, the old cathedral served as a venue for LA’s “Fashion Week.” BOXeight, a nonprofit arts organization, held its contribution to Fashion Week at Vibiana’s Place. The event, “Have Faith in LA,” was a “fashion, music and art collaborative.”

Among the entertainment groups featured during three-day event was “You Wear It Well,” which calls itself a “traveling presentation of short films and videos that investigate the intersection of fashion and film.” A short clip, “A Shaded View of Fashion,” featured on the group’s web site features scantily clad women, two men kissing, and a transvestite.

Another entertainment group was the Hysterica Dance Company, whose choreography, with barely clad men and women, emphasizes the erotic.

Remember fellow bloglodytes... this is in a former cathedral. The site of countless Baptisms, Firsy Holy Communions, weddings, Funeral Masses, ordinations... and this is St. Vibiana's final bow? It's enough to make you weep.

But of course, Roger The Dodger had nooooooo idea what developer Tom Gilmore was going to use St. Vibiana's for. Right?

This Place Really SUX!!
But at least they're not GAY

I can't make this stuff up. Here's some of the story from WIBW.com

Airport to Passengers: Fly SUX

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) -- City leaders have scrapped plans to do away with the Sioux Gateway Airport's unflattering three-letter identifier, SUX, and instead have made it the centerpiece of the airport's new marketing campaign.

The code, used by pilots and airports worldwide and printed on tickets and luggage tags, will be used on T-shirts and caps sporting the airport's new slogan, "FLY SUX." It also forms the address of the airport's redesigned Web site -
http://www.flysux.com

Sioux City officials petitioned the Federal Aviation Administration to change the code in 1988 and 2002. At one point, the FAA offered the city five alternatives - GWU, GYO, GYT, SGV and GAY - but airport trustees turned them down.

From what I hear, San Francisco has already decided to drop SFO... but now they want to simultaneously use both SUX and GAY.

From The "PC Run Amok" File
Case #789,301,642

To further illustrate just how Liberals have made the world so totally screwed-up;

Herte's some of the article from NBC10.com in Philadelphia

N.J. Boy, 7, Suspended After Drawing Gun

DENNIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. -- The mother of a South Jersey 7-year-old boy who was suspended from school after he drew a gun said her son was punished for no reason. While on the bus last week, second-grade Kyle Walker drew a picture showing two smiling stick figures shooting at each other. One was labeled "me," and the other was labeled "David."

According to the boy's mother, Shirley McDevitt, the other child took the drawing home, and his parents showed it to administrators at Dennis Township Primary School in Cape May County. "I was not concerned, especially when Kyle told me, 'Mom, it's a water gun,' and that he doesn't have a problem with David," she said.

The school suspended Walker for violating the zero-tolerance violence policy and making threats to another student, according to a letter sent to the student's mother.

And then we have this gem from across The Pond, courtesy of The Telegraph of London. Here's some of it;

School probes racism claim against boy, four

A headteacher has defended her decision to investigate an allegation that a four-year-old boy was guilty of racism during a game of chase. Anne Phipps acted after Rocky Smith spat at a 10-year-old black boy on the school's playing field. She said she had no choice but to pursue the accusation, despite the child's age. The investigation, at Bedenham Primary School in Gosport, Hants, has angered Rocky's parents.

Racism campaigners have also expressed surprise at the school's actions, but insist that even very young children can be racist. Mrs Phipps said: "When a child makes an allegation of any kind, whether it's bullying, racism, or general unhappiness, we investigate by talking to them. We couldn't dismiss this.

"A nursery nurse spoke to Rocky and I spoke to the older boy. We talked to them about what happened and why it might have happened. That's what an investigation is in a primary school.

Soon, western civilization will consist of males who are psychologically castrated. And we did it to ourselves.

This Makes About As Much Sense As Putting A Pedophile In Charge Of A Bunch Of Kids
...and we know that's never happened, has it?

Here's some of the article from The California Catholic Daily;

“Humble dialogue with other subsystems”
Theologian under investigation by Holy See speaks in Berkeley

Father Peter Phan, a theologian under investigation by the Holy See, was the keynote speaker at an Oct. 6-7 conference sponsored by the Franciscan School of Theology in Berkeley. The conference was about globalization and the Church.

Phan is a professor at Georgetown University and a former president of the Catholic Theological Society of America. His book, Being Religious Interreligiously: Asian Perspectives on Interreligious Dialogue, is the focus of an investigation by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Among the book’s “problematic points,” according to the doctrinal congregation, is that it can be read to say that non-Christian religions in themselves “have a positive role in salvation history” and do not merely prepare for the Christian Gospel; that “it makes little sense to try to convert non-Christians to Christianity;” and that “the Catholic Church cannot be identified with the church of Christ.”

The Church needs to respond to globalization by building a pluralistic social compact based on a century of Church teaching on such things as human dignity, preference for the poor, human rights, international relations and the environment, said Phan.

Phan spoke of the necessity of entering “into humble dialogue with other subsystems, particularly religious subsystems, to learn from them new truths and new ways of living -- not seeming to tell them we are the best, we are superior to them and they are deficient."

It's been widely reported that Peter Phan was last seen headed to the second star to the right and straight on 'til morning.

Latin Mass in Seattle
St. Joseph Chapel

I was in Seattle, Washington recently. Knowing I would be there over a weekend, I first checked the list of Latin Masses at the TRADITIO website to see if the classical Latin Mass was available there. (Sad to think being a traditional Catholic requires so much homework – oh for the good old pre-Vat2 days when every Mass in the world was in Latin and as long as you had a missal in your own language, you were set.)

I learned there was one every Sunday at 9:30 at the St. Joseph Chapel with a Father James Reichman, SJ. A quick Mapquest check showed the chapel was less than a half mile from my hotel (was I being blessed or what?).

On Saturday, I called to make sure the info on the website was current. I learned from a recording that what the website listed as the Josephinum Hotel for the location was called the Josephinum Apartments. After walking there Sunday morning, I discovered the place was an old hotel that had obvious been converted into an apartment building for mostly elders. Never did learn if it was run by the diocese.

The chapel was in what was probably the ballroom during the hotel’s heyday, as evidenced by the tall, ornate ceiling. I guess it was a “chapel” because it wasn’t in a stand-alone building that could be called a “church,” but I have been in churches that had less space and seating than this chapel.

There weren’t a lot of religious decorations, but there was one stained glass window as I recall, and Stations of the Cross running down one
inside wall. The proper altar (see picture) was
beautiful in its simplicity and flanked on each
side by large statues of the Blessed Virgin and
St. Joseph (always good to see him recognized
– there was a day when he was represented
in nearly every Catholic church).

The Mass was, as expected, a sacred celebration. The altar boys all seemed well-trained. The one thing that was unusual was that the congregation did not say aloud any of the Latin (or Greek) responses one normally hears at the TLM, i.e. Et cum spiritu tuo, Kyrie eleison, Gloria tibi, Domine, Habemus ad Dominum, etc. I felt a little out-of-place, but responded anyway.

Father returned to the ambo after Mass, for one announcement. He noted it was six years to the day since they started having the Latin Mass there (obviously begun under the indult). The, almost in tears, he said it was probably the best six years of his priesthood. It was a touching moment at then end of a beautiful Mass.
Just So Long As They're Safe And Warm...
And someone else does the fighting for 'em

This news story really pisses me off. Headline - Jeb Bush's Sons Split on GOP Picks

Oh golly, one's for Giuliani, the other's for Fred Thompson. Life ain't fair, huh? Poor Bush boys. What to do... what to do!?

Hey, I have a novel idea. How 'bout serving your country? After all, didn't their uncle state right after 9/11 that this fight was going to be a "shared sacrifice"? I've posted about this in the past how children of privilege have stepped up to the plate during time of war, such as the Roosevelt sons; Prince Harry; even his grandmother, (at the time) Princess Elizabeth of England.

Hell, if the future Queen of England can join, why can't George's daughters? So allow me to ask yet again... why the hell aren't any of the Bush kids in uniform during this time of "shared sacrifice"?

Allow me to update (for those who didn't know) Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) has a son in the Marine Corps, and Senator John McCain (R-AZ) has one son in The Corps and another in the Navy. Obviously, they know what "shared sacrifice" means.
_____________________________________________

UPDATE!!

As Patrick has pointed out in the ComBox section, there've been news reports that George P. Bush has, infact, joined the Naval Reserves (Intel) last March. I've found many, many reports of him joining, but nary a one reporting him finishing training and receiving his Officers Commission. And he supposedly joined seven months ago? If anyone has any straight dope in him reveiving his Commission, please pass on.

Here's an insightful, and often hilarious, piece written on Steve Sailer's iSteve blog.

And before anyone goes ballistic, no... I'm not slamming the Reserves. Hell, I respect anyone who signs up, Active, Reserve or National Guard. I just want to be sure that GPB actually went through with it, and actually has been commissioned.

Just being sure.

IMPEACH THIS PRESIDENT!!
Then put him up on war crimes

Not all that long ago, there was this Rather Nasty Man who decided to launch a lil' attack on the United States of America. This Rather Nasty Man had his people hit a few different American targets, but his biggest hit was against a certain municipality. When the attack was over, more than a few Americans were dead, and the municipality in question was left with quite a few buildings nothing more than smoldering heaps of ashes.

So anyhow, this Rather Nasty Man hightailed it back to his base of operations, obviously in a foreign country.

The American president was plenty pissed. He ordered American infantry and aviation units to attack this particular foreign country to hunt down and capture/kill the Rather Nasty Man.

So off went the Yanks a huntin'. They searched the mountains... and they searched the valleys... and they searched the deserts... and they searched the towns. Every so often, the American troops would come into contact with the Rather Nasty Man's troops, and the Americans would engage in battle, and without fail, the good guys would kill the bad guys.

Works for me, but I digress. The American troops searched long and hard for the Rather Nasty Man, and they ended up never finding him after all. Many a politician in Washington called for the Presidents head. More than a few claimed that he was engaged in an unconstitutional war. Others referred to the President as a war criminal.

So the President and the Rather Nasty Man in question are George W. Bush and Usama bin-Laden... right? WRONG. Want to know who they are?

The Rather Nasty Man in question was Pancho Villa, and the President in question was the God-Father of 20th Century American Liberalism, Woodrow Wilson.

Golly, I wonder why the Democrats never bring up the 1916-1917 DEMOCRAT ORDERED excursion into sovereign Mexican territory? By the way, all the while without the approval of the Mexican government, nor was US Congressional approval ever granted.

Personally, I think we definitely should have gone after Villa. But I also find it equally amazing that Mr-One-World-Government himself gets a pass from the Dems.

Amazing, huh?

Yet Again, Proving Our Lady Of Akita Right
Cardinal McCarrick on same side as pro-abortion group

OK, so Life News got the "former" cardinal part wrong, but they're still right on target pointing out how Cardinal McCarrick is giving approval for Catholics to vote for pro-butchery candidates.

I've posted in the past concerning how Presider McCarrick has totally abandoned authentic Church Teaching, so the following comes as no surprise.

Former Catholic Cardinal, Pro-Abortion Group Blast Communion Denial Quote
by Steven Ertelt
LifeNews.com Editor
October 15, 2007

Washington, DC
(LifeNews.com) -- A former Catholic cardinal and a leading pro-abortion "Catholic" group have blasted comments by St. Louis Archbishop Raymond Burke who said he would deny communion to Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani because of his position favoring abortion.

Earlier this month, Burke said he would deny communion to Giuliani. "If the question is about a Catholic who is publicly espousing positions contrary to the moral law, and I know that person knows it, yes I would [deny communion]," Burke told the St. Louis Post Dispatch.

He said anyone who administers Catholic communion can't knowingly give it to Catholic politicians who flout the Church's teachings on abortion. "It is a cause of concern for me and for all bishops to find ourselves in this situation," Burke said.

Former Washington Cardinal Theodore McCarrick restated his opposition to Burke's position to withhold communion from pro-abortion politicians. McCarrick said the Catholic Church shouldn't be denying communion to pro-abortion Catholic politicians because no elected official will ever perfectly fall in line with every policy position the Church takes. (In other words, he's just given the green light to voting for baby-butchers)

In an interview with the Associated Press over the weekend he also said the church's positions on abortion and other issues such as euthanasia and the death penalty are base teachings, but do not fully encompass all Catholic beliefs. (Again, McCarrick get's it wrong. No where in the official teaching of The Church does it state that it's a sin to adhere to the death penalty in cases of extreme gravity.)

"You cannot be authentically Catholic if you do not support life, yet it is not enough just to support life, you have to go beyond that," McCarrick said. "To really be authentically Catholic, you need it and the family rights, the right to education, the right to take care of the poor, the right of migrants," he added. (Typical liberal ploy. When in an indefensable position, change the subject.)

Meanwhile, Jon O'Brien, the head of the pro-abortion group calling itself "Catholics for a Free Choice" said communion decisions shouldn't be based on abortion. "In Catholicism, once you are baptized, you are authentically Catholic. We don't have a litmus test that people take," he told the Associated Press.

After Burke's comments, Giuliani, the former New York City mayor, was in New Hampshire campaigning and he avoided answering the comments directly. "Archbishops have a right to their opinion, you know," Giuliani said. "There's freedom of religion in this country. There's no established religion, and archbishops have a right to their opinion. Everybody has a right to their opinion."

"I fault the use of Latin as partly responsible for the rise and success of Hitler ..."
And other last-gasps against Summorum Pontificum
Helmet tip to my buddy, Matthew

From RenewAmerica.com, here's just a bit...

Priests' opposing views on Latin Mass

In recent parish bulletins, Father J. Patrick Wissman, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Catherine of Siena Mission in Bolivar, Mo., lashed out at Pope Benedict's motu proprio Summorum Pontificum.

Father Wissman wrote, in part:

'The Pope seems to be out of touch with the ordinary church. He seems to be acting in good will, but giving into the 'letter writers' who have been complaining for years, he will create a shadow church and cause great divisions in every diocese. Such will be that when churches are built, they would have to accommodate both rites and seminarians would have to take courses in Latin. During many centuries seminarians have fallen through the cracks and not been able to reach the goal of the priesthood because Latin was too difficult for them. This was a scandal! To return to such a course would be lunacy!

'The nature of the language we worship in is crucial. Worship language must be immediate...namely, not translated in the head - Latin would speak to the intellect at best and that is not good enough. The language of worship must speak to the heart as well as the head.

'The gospel is meant to enlighten and challenge us! It is my opinion that the use of Latin should have been done away with hundreds of years ago. This is one of the things that Martin Luther was right about. After WWII Christians worldwide shook their heads in sober sadness and declared that Christianity had failed in Europe because it had let Hitler and his hateful and mad ways to succeed. Some very holy people said: 'No, Christianity was just never tried.' I fault the use of Latin as partly responsible for the rise and success of Hitler and his neo-pagan mythology which was obviously the religion he was supporting and that actually managed to capture the German imagination. I say the people, because of Latin never were confronted by the gospel. The Mass and the sacraments never really reached down deep into the soul. There are some notable exceptions of priests and laity and some very heroic ones as well as Protestant theologians who confronted the lies of Hitler - of course, they were gotten rid of...."

How do you respond to someone so absolutely out of touch with theology and history? Yet again, individuals such as him prove Our Lady of Akita right.

My next question.... what's his bishop going to do to confront this blatant clarion call to rebellion.

Who You Gonna Believe, Me Or Your Lyin' Eyes?
Helemt tip to my goomba-ette, DM

Priest 'only pretending to be gay'

VATICAN CITY (AP) -- A Vatican official suspended after being caught on hidden camera making advances to a young man said in an interview published Sunday that he is not gay and was only pretending to be gay as part of his work.

Stenico was suspended by the Vatican after he was caught on tape making sexual advances at a young man. In an interview with La Repubblica newspaper, Monsignor Tommaso Stenico said he frequented online gay chat rooms and met with gay men as part of his work as a psychoanalyst.

He said that he pretended to be gay in order to gather information about "those who damage the image of the Church with homosexual activity." Vatican teaching holds that homosexual activity is a sin.

"It's all false; it was a trap. I was a victim of my own attempts to contribute to cleaning up the Church with my psychoanalyst work," La Repubblica quoted Stenico as saying. Vatican spokesman the Rev. Federico Lombardi said Saturday that the monsignor had been suspended pending a Vatican investigation.

Stenico is a top official in the Vatican's Congregation of the Clergy. The Vatican acted after officials recognized Stenico's office in the background of a television program on gay priests that was broadcast on Oct. 1 on La7, a private Italian TV network.

Stenico was secretly filmed making advances to a young man and asserting that gay sex was not sinful. In the Repubblica interview, Stenico said he had met with the young man and pretended to talk about homosexuality "to better understand this mysterious and faraway world which, by the fault of a few people -- among them some priests -- is doing so much harm to the Church."

He said he had never been gay and was heterosexual, but remained faithful to his vow of celibacy. Italy's Sky TG24 said Stenico had written a letter to his superiors with a similar defense. Calls to Stenico's home and Vatican office went unanswered Sunday.

For more information how this whole goat-rodeo came about, click here.

You know... I just might give the good Monsignor the benefit of the doubt, but I find it difficult to believe that his little O.J.-esque self-appointed sting operation wasn't known to anyone one at all up the chain of command?

But like I've said before, even a drowning man will clutch at a sword. Even the unbelievably arrogant ones.

UPDATE!!!

As my buddy, DM so correctly points out, homosexuals and lesbians are the height of self-centerdness, selfishness and narcissism. These disturbed individuals are so in love with themselves, that they have to find a lover that is just like them in every detail. And those who aren't like them (us mouth-breathing, sloped forehead "breeders") are looked upon as a lesser life form.

Who Says The Schism Isn't Already Here?
Let's get readyyyyyy to RUMBLLLLLLLLLE!

The liberals got away with open, in your face disobedience during the entire pontificate of Pope John Paul II. And yes, everybody loved Pope JP2... but face it, he was no disciplinarian. He was essentially told to go to hell on a daily basis, and they got away with it.

These same bishops must think that's it's still buisiness as usual. The difference now is that we have a pope who won't put up with their crap. Case in point --

The Vatican official [Msgr. Perl] acknowledged that the Ecclesia Dei commission is preparing the new document as a response to widespread limitations on the use of the 1962 Roman Missal. Msgr. Perl expressed some impatience with bishops who have set conditions that go beyond the framework of Summorum Pontificum, complaining that a "sense of obedience and respect for authority has been lost."

It's been one month since the Latin Mass was freed. Within that month, we've had outright challenges to The Holy Father's motu proprio. A number of the posting I've done on this can be found here. And within that month, The Holy Father is is already sending signals to the latter-day-luthers that they're on notice.

Forget about "the cafeteria being closed".... it's more like "you want a reason to cry? I'll give you a reason to cry!". I wonder if The Vatican has a woodshed?

Fire for effect, Holy Father... fire for effect.

A Spiritual Descendant Of martin luther Speaks!
THIS is an example of an "obedient priest"?

As I've posted below, a piece concerning Archbishop Rangith of the Congregation for Divine Worship , and what he had to say about those bishops who are trying their level best to fight The Holy Father's recent motu proprio. For those of you who haven't read it yet, I suggest you take a gander at it, then come back and read this.

But here is a ComBox posting I received from (supposedly) "Father" Charles Ledderer. There, you can also see my ComBox response to him. Anyhow, this is what I just rcv'd in the mail;
__________________________________________________________________

Fr. Charles Ledderer has left a new comment on your post "...And The Vatican Responds To all those bishops w...":

One hundred more like him? You mean one hundred more bishops resident in fantasyland? I do not think that the Tridentine Mass will magically fill our churches and seminaries and change all that is wrong with the world. Such an attitude strikes me as nothing but a Catholic form of Fundamentalism. For the Protestant fundies all one has to do is "accept Jesus as Lord and Savior." For the Catholic fundies, worshiping according to the Missal of Pius V is all that is necessary.
__________________________________________________________________

Personally, I don't think this guy really is a Catholic priest. His blog title is listed as On guard against the Catholic "lunatic fringe", and he states only that he's located somewhere in "The Dakotas". Also, he ensures that he lists that his Zodiac Year is that of the dragon. How appropriate.

Anyhow, I've done a quick search on the websites for the Diocese's of Fargo, Bismark and Sioux Falls, and guess what? There isn't a "Father Charles Ledderer" listed. Like I said... more than likely a fraud. This guy's about as much a Catholic priest as the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence in San Francisco are real Catholic nuns.

But if anyone else can find out if this individual really is a Catholic priest, please forward the info on to me. I know a person or two who has connections in The Vatican. I'm sure the Apastolic Nuncio and Archbishop Ranjith himself would be just tickled to death to read this.
...And The Vatican Responds
To all those bishops who are resisting the Motu Proprio

I've posted about Archbishop Ranjith before. We sure could use a few hundred more like him.

From Fr. Zuhlsdorf 's What Does The Prayer Really Say?, check out what the #2 man at the Congregation for Divine Worship has to say -- (emphasis mine)

“The motu proprio Summorum Pontificum on the Latin Liturgy of July 7th 2007 is the fruit of a deep reflection by our Pope on the mission of the Church. It is not up to us, who wear ecclesiastical purple and red, to draw this into question, to be disobedient and make the motu proprio void by our own little, tittle rules. Even not if they were made by a bishops conference. Even bishops do not have this right. What the Holy Fathers says, has to be obeyed in the Church. If we do not follow this principle, we will allow ourselves to be used as instruments of the devil, and nobody else. This will lead to discord in the Church, and slows down her mission. We do not have the time to waste on this. Else we behave like emperor Nero, fiddling on his violin while Rome was burning. The churches are emptying, there are no vocations, the seminaries are empty. Priests become older and older, and young priests are scarce.”

And how I would love to see Archbishop Ranjith promoted to the #1 spot at CDW. Cardinal Levada can go back to San Francisco.
Spot The Enviro-Felon!!
Everyone's playing!

I Gotta Come Clean
When you screw-up, admit it

Last week I did a post on "Friendship". Well, I screwed-up mightily. That post was sent to me via e-mail from a friend. It is NOT original material.

As many of you who visit this blog already know, it's not uncommon for me to post 2 or 3... sometimes even 4 posts a day. As far as this particular one is concerned, I flat-out failed to give the requisite "helmet tip" to my buddy Charlie C for sending this to me. I readily admit that I screwed-up.

One blogger (Melanie B.) has already sent me a corrective note (and I published it), and I've made the correction on the posting itself. But I don't think that's enough on my part.

I'm trying to contact the folks who are linking this to set the record straight. I honestly wasn't trying to deceive anyone... I was in such a hurry that I just plain old forgot to type in that this was sent to me. And yes, I should have caught it when I rcv'd various comments, but I didn't.

Would it help if I said I feel like a 1st class jack-ass?
Whatever Happened To...
Those two moslems who were arrested outside the Naval Weapons Station in South Carolina?

USMC 9971 over at Luminarium has a first rate update of the hijinx of those misunderstood utes (did you say "utes"?) who were recently popped down in South Carolina.

Mohamed And Megahed's S.C. Adventure

Remember those two Middle Eastern men who were found with suspicious materials in the trunk of their car after being stopped on a South Carolina highway near the Naval Weapons Center and the Naval Consolidated Brig on 04 August 2007? I put up a post about it on 06 August 2007. Well, they've been indicted on federal charges of transporting explosives across state lines.
Here are some items that have been recently disclosed:

• Ahmed Mohamed admitted to FBI agents that he made a training video to show people in "Arabic countries" how to use remote-controlled bombs against American soldiers.

• Someone using Mohamed's laptop computer used the search words "martyrdooms" and "suiciders" to link to the video on YouTube.

• Authorities found a toy remote-control boat, still in its box, and a partially dismantled digital watch at Youssef Samir Megahed's Tampa, Fla., home. They suspect that the items are the beginnings of a homemade bomb.

• On Mohamed's computer, authorities found a file titled "Bomb Shock," which contains files about explosives, including detailed descriptions of TNT and of C-4, a military-grade plastic explosive.

One of them made a training video in Arabic showing how to make a remote-control detonated bomb, and had detailed information about explosives on his computer. The other had a remote-control boat and a digital watch that had been disassembled to some extent. Of course they are still claiming that what was in their trunk was only homemade fireworks and that this is all just a big misunderstanding.

Somehow I just don't buy their story. Besides the facts of the case and their explanations not seeming to match-up too well, there is also the fact that there has been limited coverage of this case. Now, I understand that this isn't O.J. or a drunk Mel Gibson, but if there was something out there that would clear these two, I'm willing to bet that Katie Couric or Keith Olbermann would be pointing to this as proof that the big-bad federal government is discriminating against poor Muslim college students who went a little over the speed limit while passing through South Carolina.

You'll notice that Katie and Keith aren't doing that, though, and Mohamed and Megahed's stories just aren't adding up. I think there's more to this, and I'll keep watching.

Visualize Whirled Peas
That's about as much sense the Nobel "Peace" Prize makes
Helmet tip to Deb over at Debra's Random Thoughts

To further illustrate what a joke the Nobel Prize has become (other than the posting below), take a gander at the following;

From The Independent (Great Britain), here are a few of the front runners in this years selection;

Al Gore
Since losing the presidential election to George Bush in 2000, Al Gore has become an ardent climate change campaigner. An Inconvenient Truth, his rebuke to climate-change deniers, has earned him a Peace Prize nomination, thanks to Norwegian politicians Boerge Brende and Heidi Soerensen.
(A political has-been whose only real claim to fame is the inconvenient truth that his movie is a fraud.... and that he's the darling of gullible Scandinavian socialists everywhere.)

Oprah Winfrey
The US chat show host's fans have been petitioning to have her nominated for her philanthropic work. She is believed to be among the Nobel nominees, having opened the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in South Africa for bright girls who are from underprivileged backgrounds.
(What "philanthropic work" that's befitting a Nobel Peace Prize? A microscopic portion of her unbelievably vast fortune spent on a single school a few thousand miles away from girls that fall into the same category... and right in Oprah's own backyard. But hey, it's her money. She can spend it any way she wants. But like I said... a Nobel Peace Prize?)

Irena Sendler
Now 96, the Polish Catholic smuggled 2,500 Jewish children out of the Warsaw ghetto between 1942 and 1943 and set up adoptions by Polish families. She buried lists of the children's names so they could be reunited. Badly beaten by the Gestapo, she escaped and survived the war in hiding.
(Someone who actually DID SOMETHING!!?? And a CATHOLIC to boot!!?? Not a chance in hell.)

Evo Morales
A nomination that will no doubt raise eyebrows in the White House is that of the anti-US Bolivian leader. Bolivia's first indigenous head of state since the Spanish conquest, his promises of a better deal for ordinary Bolivians and his willingness to confront the US has won him admirers.
(An anti-American. That in itself gives him an additional 10 bonus points. I'm still trying to figure out what he did to promote world peace... other than blaming America for everything.)

Martti Ahtisaari
The former Finnish prime minister has been regularly nominated for the peace prize. His work in Namibia, the former Yugoslavia, Northern Ireland and most recently in Indonesia has made him one of the world's most successful peace negotiators. He was one of the favourites to win in 2005.
(Other than the fame that comes from being a citizen of a country where people get their names by throwing Scrabble pieces against the wall, here's another individual that actually did something. And as we can all tell now, the pre-selection hype was just that... hype. Gore had it from the git-go.)

By the way, did Gore travel to Stockholm by dog-sled to get his check? Oops... silly me. He has a private jet. So much for all breast thumping and hand wringing over global warming, huh?

Algore Wins Nobel Peace Prize!
Greatest propaganda coup since Triumph of the Will!!

Mainly because of his sci-fi fantasy flick "An Inconvenient Truth", this doofus wins the Nobel Peace Prize. Never mind the fact that a British judge has ruled the film contains 9 scientific errors, and the film was made in "the context of alarmism and exaggeration."

But to honor Gore's ability to BS his way to a couple hundred thousand dollars from a bunch of gullible Swedes, I give you this blast from the past.....

Video Of The Sodom & Gomorrah Mass
From Quamdiu Domine

Here it is, ladies and gents.

All I can figure is, the Lavender Mafia is throwing down the gauntlet with The Holy Father to see just how much garbage they can get away with. If His Holiness isn't unmistakeably decisive in his corrective actions... and damn soon... said Lavender Mafia will take that as weakness on his part, and that will only embolden them.

But if you want to read the absolute height of arrogance, see here what LifeSiteNews.com posted as the response from Archbishop Nierderauer;

A statement by Archbishop Niederauer sent to LifeSiteNews.com by Archdiocesan communications director Maurice Healy says that the Archbishop did not notice any "mock religious garb."

"At Most Holy Redeemer Church Oct. 7, I noticed no protest, no demonstration, no disruption of the Sunday Eucharist," said Archbishop Nierderauer. "The congregation was devout and the liturgy was celebrated with reverence. Toward the end of the Communion line two strangely dressed persons came to receive Communion. I did not see any mock religious garb. As I recall, one of them wore a large flowered hat or garland."

*Shaking my head in disbelief* Know what? I know he's an Archbishop, and all... but I gotta be honest on this one. Either he's that stupid not to know about "The Sisters", or he thinks that all of us are that stupid to believe him.

Archbishop Nierderauer is either an imbecile or a liar.
The Theology Of Quid Pro Quo
This for that, tit-for-tat

Cardinal George of Chicago couldn't get this more wrong. From a news story from The Telegraph (Great Britain), we have the headline and a bit of the article, proper --

Call for Jews to stop calling Jesus a bastard

The controversial comments, by Cardinal Francis George of the Archdiocese of Chicago, concern a prayer said during Easter celebrations by the small number of parishes or priests who celebrate a particular form of Good Friday mass.

Those version of Good Friday prayers calls for the congregation to pray for Jews to be converted to Christianity. But Cardinal George said this prayer should be amended to ensure it did not offend Jews.

"I suspect (the amendment) probably will be (made), because the intention is to be sure that our prayers are not offensive to the Jewish people who are our ancestors in the faith," Cardinal George said in an interview with the National Catholic Reporter.

"It does work both ways. Maybe this is an opening to say, 'Would you care to look at some of the Talmudic literature's description of Jesus as a bastard, and so on, and maybe make a few changes in some of that?'"

OK, Cardinal George did get it right when he pointed out that in a certain Talmudic text, Jesus is referred to as "a bastard" ("Jesus was a bastard born of adultery." Yebamoth 49b, p.324). But His Eminence got it wrong with his "if you get rid of this, we'll get rid of that" proposition.

Now if certain Jews (Hassidic, Orthodox, Reformed, whatever...) so desire to refer to Jesus as such, that's their call. We all have God given free-will. If anyone so chooses to reject Jesus, I say again, that's their call. For the past two years that this blog's been up and running, I've made that abundantly clear. And with that said, we as Catholics have the duty to personally put into action The Great Commission. What better display of real Christian Charity? That's what we're suppose to do!

But Cardinal George is more worried about hurt feelings than he is salvation. Personally, I would love to see the Jews abandon such texts as the Talmud. Not because I'm overly sensitive about "my hurt feelings". But more so because the acceptance of Christ far outweighs how any of us "feel". Can you understand that, Cardinal George?

For those Jews (or anyone else) in a state of Invincible Ignorance, salvation most certainly is possible. But to water-down Catholicism as so not "to offend"... well, we all know what Jesus said about what was lukewarm in our mouths.

The Sodom And Gomorrah Mass
"Presided" over by the Archbishop of San Francisco himself

From the California Catholic Daily;

"Queer nuns” get Communion
Men in drag dressed as nuns receive Blessed Sacrament from the archbishop himself at San Francisco parish

Archbishop George Niederauer gave Holy Communion to two men dressed in drag as nuns during an Oct. 7 visit to Most Holy Redeemer parish in San Francisco, witnesses who attended the Mass told California Catholic Daily.

Photos of the archbishop’s visit were taken by a member of the St. Joseph’s Men Society, and have been disseminated across the Internet. (California Catholic Daily publishes today with this story three of the photos, and hopes in the next few days to have links to video and audio tapes of the Mass.)

The men dressed in drag as nuns were apparently members of a group that calls itself the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, who say they are “the leading-edge order of queer nuns,” and whose official slogan is “go forth and sin some more.”

Until late October 2006, the group had leased Most Holy Redeemer church’s Ellard Hall for a fundraiser for HIV/AIDS programs, but the San Francisco archdiocese abruptly cancelled the group’s lease two days before a scheduled November event.

Archbishop Niederauer also gave the homily at the Oct. 7 Mass, a homily one witness called “generic and non-descript.” Said the witness, “He could have used the occasion to preach to them, but he didn’t.”

Most Holy Redeemer and its pastor, Father Stephen Meriwether, have long been known for their friendliness to the homosexual population of the Castro district, where the church is located. The parish, says its website, “prides itself in being an inclusive Catholic community -- embracing all people of good faith... regardless of their background, gender, race, social status or sexual orientation.”

Parish members, wearing Most Holy Redeemer T-shirts and bearing a parish sign, have over the years participated in San Francisco’s Gay Pride Parade; the parish website features pictures of the 2006 parade, one showing two men about to kiss. On the day of the archbishop’s visit, the parish had a booth at the Castro Street Fair, a major homosexual event in San Francisco.

The web site of Holy Redeemer parish published more than 140 photos of Archbishop Niederauer’s visit to the parish, but none of them shows the “queer nuns.”

“Thank you, Archbishop Niederauer, for your visit to MHR Parish! We appreciate your kind words and pastoral concern,” says the parish web site.
What Happened to the Catholic Church?
A Letter from a Convert to his Pastor

I ran across this article/letter in The Remnant. It's kind of a long read, but well worth it. I couldn't have said it better myself.

Here's just a lil' tid-bit;

As a convert, I am appalled at the current state of the Church. Although I, as do you, hold that Vatican II was a legitimate council, it was not (as Pope Paul VI clearly stated) a doctrinal council, but rather a pastoral one. Its aftermath, starting in 1965 (the year Vatican II ended), has had a devastating effect on the Church and on the faith of millions. How can one begin to defend the novelties that have entered the Church since Vatican II?

How does one explain American seminaries that in 1965 boasted 47,000 men and now have less then 5,000? How does one explain 180,000 nuns in this country in 1965 decreasing down to about 80,000 today, and with a mean age of 69? How does one explain Catholic Mass attendance of almost 80% in living memory that is down now to somewhere in the 20% range, less than 5% in “Catholic” countries such as France?

Belief in the "...height and summit of our faith," the Eucharist, is down to less then 30%. How does one explain the deviant sexual and criminal behavior of many priests whose crimes where covered up for decades by our own bishops. How does one explain bishops and priests who routinely refuse communion to those who "kneel to receive," but allow liturgical dancers, nuns giving homilies and silence in regards to abortion, euthanasia and homosexual behavior?

I Did A Little Checking...
And this is what I found

There was an insert in this Sunday's bulletin that was concerning some of the rationale and reasoning used by the pro-abortion camp. There was one particular quote cited by an unnamed "Princeton professor". Like I said, I did a little checking, and look what I found coming out of the esteemed yap of an Ivy League professor...

Australian Peter Singer is a Ira DeCamp Professor of Bioethics at the Princeton University Center for Human Values. Here's is just one of the quotes from his book Practical Ethics;

"Human babies are not born self-aware, or capable of grasping that they exist over time. They are not persons." With animals being self-aware, "the life of a newborn is of less value than the life of a pig, a dog, or a chimpanzee." And "a period of 28 days after birth might be allowed before an infant is accepted as having the same right to live as others."

And the learned professor went on to state in a 1999 interview with Michael Specter of the New Yorker; "... killing is wrong because when you kill someone who wants to live you make it impossible for that person to fulfill his preferences. Obviously, if you kill somebody whose preferences don't have much chance of success-a severely disabled infant, for example, or somebody in an advanced stage of Alzheimer's disease-the moral equation becomes entirely different." Or "killing a disabled infant is not morally equivalent to killing a person. Very often it is not wrong at all."

What ghoulish nightmare version of reality does this guy exist in? Honestly, I think Nazi Germany's own Dr. Josef "The Angel of Death" Mengele must be looking up from hell and smiling.

Well, at least we all now know what pure evil with a PhD looks like.

Love Thy Neighbor As Thyself
Yet another reason why I'm in favor of the death penalty

It really is quite simple... if I should ever happen to kidnap, rape, sodomize, sexually torture and eventually murder my neighbor's child, I would fully expect to be arrested, tried, convicted and be put to death.

Now I happen to hold myself to some pretty basic standards. With that said, if I REALLY love my neighbor as myself, if he were to ever do such a horrid thing, I most certainly would expect the same punishment for him.

That's not so hard to figure out, is it?

Remember, Oct. 9th Is Happy Cap A Commie Day!
"Don't shoot! I am Che Guevara and worth more to you alive than dead!"

As I've said many a time on this blog, it's amazing how two different stories fall out of the sky at the same time.

First, I have this gem, courtesy of Aunty Belle;

Then this excellent story from Ian Robinson of the Calgary Sun (Canada); (well worth the read)

Veneration of evil
Celebrating mass-killer Che's birthday is peculiar indeed

A couple of years ago, I came across one of our website geeks in a hallway wearing a Che Guevara T-shirt. I'm a right-wing guy, but you wouldn't catch me wearing an Augusto Pinochet T-shirt. It's considered bad form among my people to promote mass murderers, but that's never stopped those on the left end of the spectrum.

I've seen young folks wearing gear with the image of Mao emblazoned on it, and he killed so many people he made Hitler look like a Quaker. I said to the guy: "You know, some people would consider your shirt offensive, given Che was a mass murderer. It's like wearing a Ted Bundy T-shirt."

He turned to me -- wearing the kind of patchy, testosterone-challenged beard that was Che's trademark -- and said: "Well, you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs."

Wow. Nice to know who the moral imbeciles are.

Writing in Time magazine in 1999, another moral imbecile, the writer Ariel Dorfman penned the words: "By the time Ernesto Guevara, known to us as Che, was murdered in the jungles of Bolivia in October 1967, he was already a legend to my generation, not only in Latin America but also around the world."

The anniversary of the death of the Argentine doctor turned Cuban Communist revolutionary is Oct. 9. He continues to be a symbol of freedom and revolutionary fervour and purity for people who can't read or think.

Che was Fidel Castro's right-hand man. Despite the fact leftie morons from Pierre Trudeau to Michael Moore venerate the Cuban totalitarian state, it is just a prison masquerading as a nation.

After the revolution toppling the Batista regime, Castro put his buddy the doctor in charge of a prison to deal with the new enemies of the state. Cheerfully violating his Hippocratic oath -- he was a licensed physician -- Che said: "To send men to the firing squad, judicial proof is unnecessary ... These procedures are an archaic bourgeois detail. This is a revolution! And a revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate! We must create the pedagogy of The Wall!"

The best scholarship available shows he approved or participated in the illegal executions of at least 200 people -- including a 14-year-old boy. Che was put in charge of turning Cuba into a modern industrial nation. He failed miserably, thus consigning Cuba to a future as a colony of the Soviet Union, exchanging sugar for fighter planes.

He then decided to take the Cuban revolution to the Congo. The U.S. understandably decided they couldn't have this moron loose in Africa and monitored his moves with electronic intelligence which they fed to local governments, with the result this patchy-bearded loser was sent packing with his tail between his legs.

Che then decided the time was ripe to foment revolution in Bolivia, despite the fact that nation had recently enacted all kinds of political change, including land reform in favour of the peasantry, who were as a consequence kindly disposed to their government, not to out-of-town murderers.

Che arrived in Bolivia with a small cadre of "revolutionaries" -- none of whom spoke the local language (d'oh!) -- and set up a base camp. His first casualties came when he took his men out on a training mission, became hopelessly lost (apparently, he couldn't read a compass or a map) and a couple of his men died crossing a river.

Tipped off by a local who didn't want these clowns roaming in his back yard, CIA-trained and funded Bolivian troops swooped down . Che, valiant hero of the Cuban revolution, was captured after shouting: "Don't shoot! I am Che Guevara and worth more to you alive than dead!" Brave fella. The guys who captured him decided he was too dangerous to keep around so they blew him away. And this martyr of the left was born.

But who was he really? A doctor who turned his back on healing to become a murderer. A sycophant to Castro, which was where he gained his only "success" in enslaving the Cuban people. From there on in, his legacy is that of the loser, who failed miserably at everything but murder.

And yet, his face adorns T-shirts. On Oct. 9, there will be op-eds venerating him, penned by the kind of people who once embraced Stalin. The veneration of this kind of evil is peculiar to those on the mainstream political left and it is very peculiar indeed.

Moslems... In... SPAAAAAAACE!!!
Three, two, one... blast off!

From the Herald Sun (Australia)

Guidelines for Performing Islamic Rites at the International Space Station, teaches the Muslim astronaut how to perform ablutions, determine the location of Mecca when praying, prayer times, and how to fast in space..."

But my spies have uncovered the real book! Here's some of it...

1. Fight the urge to fly the space station into Israel. But if you can swing it... go for it, Allah be praised!

2. Leave your goat at home.

3. Keep a sharp eye open for Salman Rushdie, we haven't seen him for awhile. If you see him, you know what to do (wink, wink).

4. Demand kous-kous in one of those really cool astro-lunch bags.

5. Don't let the infidels on the Space Station ever see you staring at planet earth muttering "I kill you all!"

6. Ensure you are photographed waving your Blood of the Martyrs University pennant. It'll make a great commercial during half-time. And try to smile this time!!

7. Stay away from Tang. It was invented by the Jews.

8. Have your "wake-up music" be the first morning call to prayer turned up full blast. Take that James Taylor and your mellow Adult Contemporary music!

9. Stay away from the infidel Americans. Remember, it's an American secret that N.A.S.A. really stands for Nearly All Sunnis are Assholes.

10. Before you leave, ensure you place a "My Little Jihaadist Can Kill Your Honor Student" sticker on the Space Station bumper.
