Good News, Bad News
"You're traveling through another dimension--a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind, a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead: Your next stop, The Twilight Zone."
I'm sure many of you have already heard of the so-called "priest" who swished out of the closet and pronounced to the world that he's a Backdoor Conquistador. And of all places to make his announcement, during Mass.
Yeah, yeah... this isn't the first time something like this has happened, and it won't be the last. Hell, it more than a few diocese, it's become passé. What's really sad, is when a priest in North America or Western Europe actually has the backbone to take a public stand by rebuking the Incarnate Smoke of Satan that's already infiltrated The Church.
But then again, should any of us really be surprised? Our Lady of Akita warned us all more than 20 years ago that episodes like this would be commonplace.
But anyhow, kudos to Fr. Euteneuer for standing up to his morally disordered confrere. (Emphasis mine)
Fr. Euteneuer responds to Jesuit who ‘Came Out’ at Campus Mass
FRONT ROYAL, VA — The Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer, STL, president of Human Life International, (HLI) today published an “open letter” to Father Thomas J. Brennan, SJ, who declared that he was a homosexual during a student Mass, admitting that it was one of “the worst kept secrets” on campus.
Father Euteneuer’s response, “Homosexual Jesuit Needs Refresher Course in Priestly Love” was published in his weekly email newsletter, Spirit & Life®, available Thursday after 3:00 PM EST on the HLI website. The letter called for Brennan to apologize to his congregation.
Father Euteneuer said, “There is something just plain wrong about abusing people’s trust in the priesthood in such a public way, and since you chose to ‘go public’ with this matter, a public response to your outrageous ‘outing’ is merited.”
“First of all,” Father Euteneuer said, “Holy Mass is not a forum for your self-expression. You chose the sacred liturgy and the pulpit reserved for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the launching pad for your personal testament to homosexuality … You’ve read the same documents I’ve read about the liturgy, and none of them say the liturgy is your personal stage.”
He continued, “[Celibacy] is a form of Christian chastity to which you and I are called, and I trust that you are faithful to it. … A heterosexual celibate renounces his natural desire for wife and children in order to embrace the Bride of Christ in a direct spousal relationship. A homosexual celibate renounces an unholy desire for members of the same sex: that is a renunciation of a disorder, not the embrace of a Bride.
“When even a celibate priest chooses to go public about his homosexual identity as an expression of ‘diversity’ or ‘pride’, the faithful are rightfully confused and scandalized. Not only do you owe them an apology, you owe them a better example of priesthood. They deserve a priest who is clear about the Church’s doctrine about homosexual acts and who teaches it unambiguously. … If you do not clearly witness the Church’s teaching about your own vocation, how can you teach others to be faithful to theirs?”

Oh, that we would have more manly men like Fr. Euteneuer in the priesthood. But, then, he is a Marine.
It was wrongful to remove homosexuality from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). Simply because something is congenital does not make it something to "celebrate."
Off topic: Kevin, I know you have been taken to task for posting pictures of attractive females on your blog. I have a post on my mine about what is "immodest" dress. Is it possible for a woman to dress such that a man finds her "attractive" with absolutely no thought to her being "sexually" so? I would find your opinions interesting.
Priests like Fr. Euteneuer are all too rare in the the Church of Rome.
VSO,
For the time being. Our 40 years in the desert is slowly coming to an end. Men such as Fr Euteneuer are slowly becomeing the rule rather than the exception.
It may take 10 years or so to see it, but it's coming.
Jesus promised us His Church would remain until the end of time. He never breaks His promises. There will always be the bad with the good--and like our Lady of Akita said the work of the devil would come even from our own Church. But, throughout time God always gives us good people with the backbone of Father Euteneuer--who BTW I love--rebuking the incarnate smoke of Satan that's already infiltrated God's Church. Yes!
Off-topic (so you needn't post this comment): thank you for your comment on modesty in fashion. I placed a picture of Her Serene Highness there as an example of what I personally DO NOT consider to be immodest dress. Obviously, context is everything - a woman should not wear to Mass what she might wear for an evening out, but I would like to think that neither you nor someone like my husband would object to their wives wearing the dress pictured on Grace Kelly to, say, a parish dinner dance (notwithtsanding the fact it would take a shoe horn and a can of grease to get me into it!).
Off subject, but
Happy Birthday to Vir Speluncae, Prevat2, Fr. Euteneuer, and all other Marines.
Happy Birthday, marines!
As for Fr. McSwishey, I have song, to a famous advertising jingle:
It's Taser, it's Taser
fun for gay swishy boys
It's Taser it's Taser
The right wing catholic toy!
