That's about as much sense the Nobel "Peace" Prize makes
Helmet tip to Deb over at Debra's Random Thoughts
To further illustrate what a joke the Nobel Prize has become (other than the posting below), take a gander at the following;
From The Independent (Great Britain), here are a few of the front runners in this years selection;
Al Gore
Since losing the presidential election to George Bush in 2000, Al Gore has become an ardent climate change campaigner. An Inconvenient Truth, his rebuke to climate-change deniers, has earned him a Peace Prize nomination, thanks to Norwegian politicians Boerge Brende and Heidi Soerensen. (A political has-been whose only real claim to fame is the inconvenient truth that his movie is a fraud.... and that he's the darling of gullible Scandinavian socialists everywhere.)
Oprah Winfrey
The US chat show host's fans have been petitioning to have her nominated for her philanthropic work. She is believed to be among the Nobel nominees, having opened the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in South Africa for bright girls who are from underprivileged backgrounds. (What "philanthropic work" that's befitting a Nobel Peace Prize? A microscopic portion of her unbelievably vast fortune spent on a single school a few thousand miles away from girls that fall into the same category... and right in Oprah's own backyard. But hey, it's her money. She can spend it any way she wants. But like I said... a Nobel Peace Prize?)
Irena Sendler
Now 96, the Polish Catholic smuggled 2,500 Jewish children out of the Warsaw ghetto between 1942 and 1943 and set up adoptions by Polish families. She buried lists of the children's names so they could be reunited. Badly beaten by the Gestapo, she escaped and survived the war in hiding. (Someone who actually DID SOMETHING!!?? And a CATHOLIC to boot!!?? Not a chance in hell.)
Evo Morales
A nomination that will no doubt raise eyebrows in the White House is that of the anti-US Bolivian leader. Bolivia's first indigenous head of state since the Spanish conquest, his promises of a better deal for ordinary Bolivians and his willingness to confront the US has won him admirers. (An anti-American. That in itself gives him an additional 10 bonus points. I'm still trying to figure out what he did to promote world peace... other than blaming America for everything.)
Martti Ahtisaari
The former Finnish prime minister has been regularly nominated for the peace prize. His work in Namibia, the former Yugoslavia, Northern Ireland and most recently in Indonesia has made him one of the world's most successful peace negotiators. He was one of the favourites to win in 2005. (Other than the fame that comes from being a citizen of a country where people get their names by throwing Scrabble pieces against the wall, here's another individual that actually did something. And as we can all tell now, the pre-selection hype was just that... hype. Gore had it from the git-go.)
By the way, did Gore travel to Stockholm by dog-sled to get his check? Oops... silly me. He has a private jet. So much for all breast thumping and hand wringing over global warming, huh?
You know what kills me? Gore's beloved "Global Warming Hockey Stick" is a complete fraud! It's a total fake! The *real* global warming graph goes up and down, up and down, up and down in perfect rythm. It shows that global warming IS TOTALLY NORMAL!!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, on his movie "Inconvenient Truth" another one of his graphs is a total fraud as well - he flipped one of them over to make it look like a matching trend. (If only I could remember the exact things the two graphs represented - was it green house gas goes up as heat goes up? Something like that.)
Another thing! Loads of top Scientists that supposedly back the "Sky Is Falling!" Al Gore greenie group in fact demanded that their names be removed from the list but their requests were ignored.
So this guy, with his private jet, gets the Nobel Peace Prize for LYING. Thou...shalt...not...lie...
Irena Sendler - If she was a disedent Catholic who helped Palastinians out to destroy Israel probably. Good Catholic in WW II helping Jews escape a holocaust that didn't really happen, NEVER!
ReplyDeleteMartti Ahtisaari - Someone who actually works for peace. Given the recent track record of the Peace Prize, that would be like a fact filled, accurate documentary winning the Oscar.
Evo Morales - Isn't blaming America enough?
Oprah Winfrey - Don't forget, her philanthropic work includes how good she makes her audience feel. & she also gave away a bunch of cars to her audience a couple years ago. So, she is doing as much as Al Gore to stop Global Warming. Doesn't that qualify her?
All the evidence is clear:
Al Gore was set up to win.
Al,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you brought up Oprah and the "cars" episode.
Turns out she never "donated" a damn thing. The cars were all donated by a major American automobile manufacturer... Chrysler Corporation, I do believe.
Like I said "gave away". Chrysler dontated, she gave to make her look good. That is her real philanthropic work. I also have this question for her: "If you really care about the environment like you claim, why didn't you arrange to give your audience a EC (Ecologically PC, a term abreviation I think I just invented) car like the Prius? More proof she is as hypocritical about the environment as Al Gore et al!
ReplyDeleteI noticed I made a small ommission in the bit about Irena Sendler. It should have read: helping Jews escape a holocaust that the leaders of Iran & others who are good guys in the eyes of the Nobel Prize committee members claim didn't really happen.
Also, you notice AlGore didn't win the Science prize. Why? Because they still have some standards that require it to be real science not a collection of "inconvinient untruths" in order to win!
Hey, thinks for the Helmet tip. I was going to post much of this on my blog but after putting up information on Our Lady of Guadalupe I have decided that for nine days I wouldn't post. It is driving me nuts not to be able to put this type of stuff up on my blog, but not posting is my blogger's version of a novena. Lol.
ReplyDeleteLike I said "gave away". Chrysler dontated, she gave to make her look good. That is her real philanthropic work.
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY!!
Ugh.
ReplyDeleteBut who's surprised?
And God bless Irena Sendler. She's got better things in store for her than the Nobel Peace Prize.
