Keep Things In Perspective
We've faced worse times before

We just reached a terrible milestone - 3 years and 3 1/2 months after the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom, our nation just suffered it's 2,500th combat death. Each and every one of these deaths are tragic, to be sure.

But like I recently posted, even the terrorists as much to admitted they're losing. And like the title of this posting says... keep things in perspective.

Just one suggestion ~ take a good hard look at the casualty totals and the time frames noted below.

Iraq (War on Terrorism) - 2,500 US Servicemen dead in 1,197 days

In no particular order ---

Chosin Reservoir (Korean War) - 2,692 Allied dead in 18 days

Iwo Jima (World War II) - 6,821 Marines dead in 36 days

Gettysburg (War Between The States) - Both Union and Confederate - 3,608 dead in 3 days

Tarawa (World War II) - 1,009 Marines dead in 3 days

Normandy (World War II) - 71,700 Allied dead in 79 days

Antietam - (War Between The States) - Both Union and Confederate - 3,654 dead in a matter of hours

Belleau Wood (World War I) - 1,811 Marines and soldiers dead in 26 days

Okinawa (World War II) - 12,500 Marines, sailors and soldiers dead in 81 days

I could give a tinkers damn less what the MSM says... we're winning! Stay the course, defeat Islamo-Fascism. Don't let the Battles of Tours, Vienna and Lepanto be in vain.

  1. I agree.
    Stay the course.
The liberal media wants to convince everyone we are losing, but we ARE winning.
